I saw a clip with Gene Borello yesterday from a podcast, it's 2024 the day before memorial & he said something like somebody tried to blow up Joey Merlino in Philadelphia the other day. He said somebody planted a bomb or there was an explosion. He said to the viewers to stop saying it was him. He doesn't do that anymore. Did this really happen?

I don't think Merlino had anything to do with the fire at his place. He's not dumb, and he knows that if he did anything like that for the insurance, he would be the first suspect. When I was living in Southie [South Boston] pregentrification,1974-1994, houses and cars were going up in flames all of the time. Turns out that most of these fires were set by the owner to collect the insurance. Law enforcement is wise to that now.

I appreciate your comments. I agree with Jeff that we don’t want these frauds on KZbin and I don’t criticize him for who he brings on. I don’t have a problem with Jeff and he is a big name in this genre and knows how to grow his brand. I defintely make mistakes but in the case of these guests I did do my homework as I don’t want to have BS artists on here trying to platform. I just can't fathom how anybody can criticize Frank DiMatteo ! I commend James for bringing him on. We should all appreciate Frank DiMatteo as he is probably the only person left alive who knew Joe Gallo and his gang and is willing to share stories about the Gallo crew and their tough neighborhood back in the day. Frank offers us a very rare glimpse into the life of the Gallo crew in a neighborhood which is long gone and unfortunately been gentrified. President Street was another world the likes of which we will never ever see again and I for one truly appreciate any kind of insight Frank DiMateo can share. Who else has this knowledge and actually witnessed the goings of the Gallos ? I truly hope James will host Frank countless more times as each time he divulges new tidbits which peak our curiosity and hunger for the good ol' days in Brooklyn !! Buona giornata !
