Uncle Whitlock strikes again. Can’t just appreciate that Kobe modelled his game on MJ’s, because of the VAST amount of respect he had for Jordan. It’s like LeBron isn’t a worse player, because his game is modelled on Magic’s, but with an insane amount of athleticism added.

Why do people complicate things that are very simple. Sometimes the picture is better in black and white. Everyone wants to have a different opinion because they think that sets them apart. Let's just sit back and appreciate the athletes that play for "our entertainment". More positivity and les negativity before we put ourselves into extinction

Wow, talk about bashing one of the greatest players to ever grace the courts of the NBA. I'm not even a Lakers fan, hate them matter of fact, but even I have to admit that Kobe was great. Just because he has never reflected your idea of what a player and a man should be, it doesn't mean that he's trash. Chris Broussard was the only one who didn't unload on Kobe. Props to him, he should have his own big show, instead of just a podcast.

I can relate to Chris Broussard, don't know why they disrespecting Kobe so much, I mean... I can argue that Kobe played in the toughest era between him, Mj and Lebron, even in my list I will eventually have Lebron over Kobe, I still respect Kobe's hard work and basketball IQ and success he was able to do as a Laker, and I grew up with my Phoenix Suns with my favorite player being Steve Nash.

He won 3 rings with LA in #8, he scored nearly 17,000 points, and had arguably the single greatest scoring 81 points vs the raptors, then in #24 he scored another nearly 17,000 points, won an mvp, 2 championships, 2 final mvps, and a last game of 60 points. So, how did he not deserve both to be retired, as those are both two hall of fame jerseys.

@rohanmathew6951
@rohanmathew6951 6 жыл бұрын
drkdze he's not fickle. And some argue that's how it should be. You can criticise a player and his game and not be disrespectful while you do it. Broussard' criticism of athletes is always focused on what they do on the floor and not what they do off it. He doesn't get it into petty gossip. The reason people like him is because he weighs facts and against facts and says hey you can guys can have your opinion now but I think these are the facts. He's also not overly analytical and compared to some of colleagues that's quite refreshing.

I am not sure why Kobe has to live up to a “humble black man”. He was amazing. He was a basketball killer. He is a multicultural, multilingual basketball genius. "Kobe wanted to be a knock off" lol Kobe and M.J both 6'6" . Both had the best fadeaway and both lived for the clutch moments. The world wanted another M.J after he left and kobe was the only one that dared to be the goat with the mj style. Now kobe is retired we will never see anything like those 2 again.

its kinda funny seeing whitlock taking such offense to kobe getting two jerseys retired. is he the first player that is so great to get 2 jerseys retired? no of course not, but is he the first player really on 1 team played for 20 years and right in the middle swapped numbers? and honestly had a hall of fame career in both numbers? well yes, jordan had 45 that year he came back from baseball for like the last 20 games or so but then went right back to 23 not sure why people are taking it at such an insult, kobe's career was a unique situation and personally i don't think he decided on doing both. in the press conference before hand he said if he had to pick he would pick 24. i think the organization wants to retire both numbers. i would of liked it to be 1 jersey but retire both numbers but it's not THAT big a deal its not kobe sticking his nose up at all the other greats up there trying to be better but i guess shouldn't be shocked whitlock said what he said he's always been bias to hating kobe which is his right

And the crazy thing is , kobe didn't decide to have 2 jerseys hung up. The Lakers did that. And Shaq openly admitted on outside the NBA that jerry buss traded him and kobe didn't force their hand. They didn't wanna pay that man 30 mill a year when they had a rising star in kobe

Lol Whitlock never said that lebron was a saint. He just said that he develops relationships with his teammates unlike Kobe, which is pretty obvious. Nothing wrong with the way that Kobe did it either, it got the job done. Just don’t make Whitlock out to be a lebron fan cuz he’s not (he’s constantly giving the man an approval percentage for crying out loud). Just look up some of his takes on lbj lol

How is it disrespectful to have both jerseys retired? I'm pretty sure if other greats wore 2 numbers of the course of their careers, they would have em both as well. It would be disrespectful not to retire both his jerseys because of what he accomplished wearing both those numbers. He won 3 rings with #8 and had one of the greatest scoring seasons ever which included the 81-point performance. He won 2 rings with #24, won MVP, and set other scoring records such as the one in New York. Jeanie Buss said it perfectly, if #8 and #24 were two separate Kobe's, both would be in the hall of fame. No doubt.

Why shouldn’t Kobe have 2 jerseys retired? Whitlock: “Everyone has help” Gonzalez: “Colorado” This is a disgrace. He won three rings and put up the greatest scoring performances we’ve ever seen since Wilt as number 8. He Won 2 championships and his MVP with 24. He’s accomplished more with each number than most of the players in the NBA rafters have in their entire careers.

When LeBron gets his no. 6 retired by Miami and his 23 retired by Cleveland ain't not one gonna bat an eye. Kobe played with one team for TWENTY YEARS. He didn't ask to get both retired, it was the organization that decided it for him because of his commitment and dedication. Jeanie Buss practically choked up when she was giving her speech when she mentioned that he stuck around. Also, no one else has ever worn two jersey numbers for the same team for such long periods. In Kobe's case he spent half his career with one number and half his career with the other and had incredible success with both phases. These have been some of the worst takes I've seen. The man is retired, and yet they are coming at him with hate. It's Kobe's day and all I hear is LeBron is better, Kobe wasn't the best of his era. Just give the man props, admire his accolades and be happy you were able to see one of the all-timers lace them up for your viewing pleasure.
