Welcome to my KZbin channel Hairliciously. In this channel, I will be taking you on a journey of my FUE hair transplant progress. Towards the end of November 2016, I had a 1700 FUE hair transplant done in South Korea to lower my hairline and to fill in my receding temples. The FUE hair transplant procedure took me about 7-8 hours to complete and cost me approximately $5000 USD.

Products I am using to supplement my FUE hair transplant:
1. Finasteride 1mg/day (generic brand for Propecia/Proscar) - Finasteride is approved by the FDA for male pattern baldness and is effective in slowing hair loss for men. - STOPPED AS OF 4/10/2017
2. Biotin 10,000mcg/day - Biotin is effective in thickening hair, nails, and beautifying the skin. I've noticed thicker and stronger hair after using Biotin for the past few months.
3. Vitamin D 3,000IU/day - Vitamin D helps maintain a healthy body
4. Minoxidil (Rogaine) - Minoxidil slows hair loss progression and promotes hair regrowth. I've noticed that using Minoxidil helped me grow my transplanted hairs a lot more quicker.
5. Pumpkin Seed Oil 1000 mg
6. Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)

i went for a consultation in london, and the doctors refused to operate on my temporal region, because they think you will continue to lose hair there as you age. They also refused to use no more than 2000 grafts at one time, as extracting more than that could damage the donor area. Also they claim most donor areas are no more than 5000 grafts. In contrast to this, Koray in turkey offered me 3200 grafts and claimed my donor area is 8000 grafts. Just like in korea, they operate on the temporal region. So i am confused with this conflicting information. who should i trust?

Go with the one that will work on your temporal points. If you don't get it rebuilt, the hair transplant will look unnatural. You have about 8000 grafts you can utilize. Just make sure you plan long term and make sure to be conservative since once the donor hair is depleted, you won't have any more hair... unless you use body hair but it does not have the same characteristics as scalp hair and will look unnatural.

Dr korays master plan was to use 3200 on the frontal region, and then save the remaining 5000 for the vertex. A more expensive surgery in london claim once you take over 2500 grafts from the donor, there is a high risk of damaging it. Making subsequent surgeries difficult. Have you heard of anything like this before?

I have watched a number of your videos. Thank you so much. Really helpful. I have 2 questions. 1. I m considering to go for FUE. I have hair loss at my temples, so the surgery will be mainly focused on that area, similar to your case... wondering if you have asked your doctor this question. In the future, if the hair line is starting to go up again, which could be more likely be the factor? the skin of the temple or the transplanted hair? Cause I am thinking my temples are pretty oily. 2. I am considering to go to Korea for the surgery. (I am an Asian, from Hong Kong). And I am considering to visitor your doctor. But as you mentioned in one of your videos that the transplanting work were actually done by 2 nurses/assistants... throughout this year you have done some many researches on hair transplant, if you get a 2nd hair transplant, will you still go back to him or will you recommend another one? Did the headache after the surgery feel like a hang over? And did u experience swelling on your face and eyes?

Yeah, felt slightly like a hangover but it went away after a few days. I was lucky not to have any swelling on my face and eyes although it isn't uncommon to have swelling since the anesthesia drains down from your forehead to your face

It looks like they shaved the donor area in the back but not the transplant area up front. I was under the impression that they shaved the whole head to do the transplant. Is this how they always do it? Or was is because you needed the transplant mostly at the hairline instead of the crown?

I had to shave the donor area in the back to a 0 clipper and a tiny bit in the front for the hairline.. but i eventually shaved my head completely after 3-4 weeks

Hey man, I love watching your progress! Since I got my own transplant done a couple weeks (3 weeks) Id like to ask you a question:Did you have some bald spots? After washing my hair today I noticed that theres like 1cm big bald spot with no hairs inthere. I guess I lost the hair during bedtime/washing. I always see hairshafts falling out every once in a while. So my question is:Did you experience something similiar?That youve had a bald spot and after 3-4 months the hair transplant grew back in? Or is there no hope when its completely bald?Cheers, keep us updated :D

hey man, thanks for your support! once you have a hair transplant, the transplanted hairs will fall off in about 3-4 weeks. It will go into a dormant stage and then grow back 3-4 months later. full results take about 1 year to see so you need to be patient! Some people do experience temporary shock loss, meaning the native hairs near the transplanted areas can also fall out due to the shock but they tend to grow back. Good luck on your journey!

The only thing that hurt slightly was the numbing part but that only lasteda few seconds, other than that nothing was painful for me. The stitches were a little uncomfortable when they came out but I was fine

Theres a few different reasons for me, Im gonna go over them in my 5 month update video next week. Since I chose FUT I didn't have to shave my head, it was cheaper, my doctor harvested more donor hair. It comes down to preference and the skill of the doctor in my opinion.

Do u know whether there is a difference in efficacy between liquid and foam minox?

they should be pretty similar in efficacy, although the foam might be harder to use on the scalp if you have longer hair. I like the liquid version as a result.
