Piggies have very very sharp teeth. If you want your dog to remain unscathed, keep them away from any pig that comes wandering onto your property ...... supposedly domesticated or feral. It's not worth taking a chance and not being kind to your pet.

Yeah, a normal person would have shooed the pig away back home. And the dog owner's statement is fishy because she said she was trying to take a picture but accidentally hit video. Huh? She then proceeded to follow to pig in the video frame for many seconds? Regardless, the pig should have not been in her yard. There's some evidence that it bit her dog so the pig owner pays but... $1700 for a little bite that didn't even make the dog yelp? And the dog owner's most stupid comment, "It was touch and go for a while she almost needed surgery which would have been for thousands of dollars!"

Yes, why I think it is a dumb decision. The owner didn’t put her dog inside because she doesn’t know the temperament of the pig or anything. I raised pigs when I was younger and if they don’t know a person or another animal, they’re not very tolerable if that makes sense, but also the pig should not be on her property and six months before that if it was true, the pig was on her property before too if the defendant story really is true that a tree knocked down her fence or whatever then she should’ve been out there with her pig taking it potty letting it have outside time But I also don’t believe that she just accidentally pressed record

@@stratfordbaby technically morally yes but not in this case, because the pig was on her property it’s her property which yes I don’t think it is a smart choice for her to let her dogs smell a pig she does not know the temperament of I don’t think that was smart at all but she isn’t obligated to remove her dog on her property and the lady that owns the pig should be more responsible specially, if the story is true about a tree knocking down part of her fence. She should’ve been out there with her pig in her yard to take it potty or let it have outside time until the fence is fixed. And the pig was on the plaintiffs property, six months before the pig bit her dog so it wasn’t just a one time thing. Would I ever let my dog even my dog has a good temperament go and smell somebody’s random pig no I wouldn’t.

I think the plaintiff allowed it to happen because she wanted to get back at the defendant. There was no reason for her to get so close the pig and to bring her dog. Even though the video is brief, it's clear the pig was not aggressive until it felt threatened by the dog, at which point it instinctively defended itself.

If I found a pot bellied pig on my property, I wouldn’t let my dog get all up in its face. She didn’t think she was taking a picture. You don’t keep holding the camera like that when you don’t know it’s a video. She didn’t call her dog away. She didn’t even try to shoo the pig back to the neighbors or keep her dog inside and call the neighbor to come and get it. She allowed the dog to get up in the pig’s business which it tolerated for a bit til the dog tried to push its nose to the private area. It’s really her own fault her dog got bitten. You have to take due caution even in your own yard. If there’s a strange animal, put the dog in the house FIRST. She’s crazy letting her dog get all up in the face of that pig who accidentally got loose. Many don’t even know the signs for dogs or cats. “Let me film my child as my dog is trying to escape and is cowering in fear, this is so cu-oh no!” That happens a lot. I don’t know pigs at all, and it was fairly obvious when it was coming to me (and when she should’ve got her dog away). Hell some people are so bad they don’t know what a warning snap means with dogs. (Can think of one reality star’s husband who killed their dog over a warning snap like that, when the dog was clearly afraid before hand) I don’t know, maybe I expect too much of people but if you own animals you should be able to tell how they feel generally. I don't understand why she would let her dog sniff the pig if it's a prized show dog. Growing up my neighbor never cared for his fences and I would get pigs in my yard, babies, and mommas mainly. I was taught to get inside the house not investigate the pig. If my horse who has a good bloodline was anywhere near one of those pigs I would call her and if she didn't come I would lead her away. That was very risky on the dog owners part, you want a picture get the dogs inside then snap it, that pig won't go anywhere unless scared

The behaviors I saw was the pig turning away(avoidance). Then it gave a warning(chomping it teeth together). Finally, it had enough and turned towards the dog to snap at it. I didn't see it make contact, but it was a quick exchange. The dog owner should have seen the signs if she was a "professional breeder".

I'm all for the plaintiff being compensated, but as a dog owner, I think she could have done better. What I mean is this. If I was walking my dog and came across a pig, or any other animal, I would not let my dog get anywhere near it. She literally let her dog sniff the heck out of it while she casually filmed. I would have pulled my dog back and stayed away from the pig. The defendant is totally at fault, but the plaintiff exercised poor judgement here, and that should be pointed out.

Invisible Fencing is worthless. It does not keep other animals from coming onto your property. Also there are been cases where the dogs have gotten excited and ran through the invisible fencing and then have been afraid to come back through the fencing to get on their property because they've already been shocked once by the invisible fence. I'm not saying the dane mom was wrong but you can't protect your animals with invisible fencing.

1st: Yes they are! 2: Yes, there are. Domestic hogs (meat pigs) get up to a ton in weight. Potbellies & the like (at 1/10th that size) are "dwarf" compared to them. You probably mean bc those faked "teacup" pigs are only like that bc they're being starved into such stunted sizes? (Which causes them to be mean/hangry, have organ failure & die 😿)
