@@JF-um3wz Years before they did that movie, and when Jim Henson was still alive, they did a special saluting classic movies. In a "Wizard of Oz" medley, Piggy was Dorothy with her dog Foo-Foo as Toto, Scooter as the Scarecrow, and, as was done later, Gonzo as the Tin Woodman and Fozzie as the Cowardly Lion. I suppose they had to use their existing cast, but I would have loved to see them do like they did with "The Frog Prince" and construct new Muppets to be the featured characters.

But magical shoes that, when clicked together thrice, return me home? Poppycock! You must think I'm stupid, huh. 'Oh tell her the shoes are magic, that'll be a laugh.' F*ck you, Glinda. I always thought it was because they were kinda using Dorothy and didn’t tell her because they felt she would have clicked those shoes immediately to get back home without helping anyone. Not that she isn’t a good person. But she is a small teenage girl from Kansas and the “good” inhabitants forced her to fight and/or kill several beings in that world: the cowardly lion (before he became good), crows, flying monkeys, and a murderous witch with a water allergy. And they made her walk and skip countless miles in low heeled shoes she wasn’t allowed to ever take off, even when she was asleep. The thousands of munchkins didn’t help her nor did the whole city of Oz. The inhabitants were totally manipulating, torturing, and gaslighting her for their own purposes. So I think that’s why they kept the true magic of the shoes a secret until the end when she wasn’t useful to them anymore.
@MaskedMan66
@MaskedMan66 3 ай бұрын
She's a twelve year-old and she wasn't being "used" by anyone. The Wizard sent her to kill the Wicked Witch of the West, because he knew she'd already killed one Wicked Witch, so he naturally thought she could do it again. She was certainly never forced to do anything by anyone, not even the Wicked Witch. The Lion was never bad. Dorothy never killed anything but the Wicked Witches, and both times were accidents. The ruby slippers in the movie were high-heeled; they had to be, because Judy was 4'11". There were only 124 Munchkins. Do you think that everyone in the Shire, Rivendell, Bree, Rohan, Ithilien, and Gondor ought to have helped Frodo Baggins on his quest?

It is the Soldier with the Green Whiskers that tells Dorothy and Friends about Glinda after the Wizard's balloon carries him off and they then journey to meet her. Also, she is not Glinda's sister in the original books. Also, Baum did not name her in the original book but gave her the name "Locasta" in the stage play he wrote adapting his first book.

If you have read the series... Glinda is evil... Like seriously, she transformed the rightful heir of the emerald city and enslaved her to another witch to keep her out of the Wizard's way.
