I like how _The Nightmare Before Christmas_ is written as a stand-alone story but the two official console games of it function as a prequel and sequel respectively. For anyone curious: the story of second video game isn’t about Jack visiting other holidays, but rather about him stopping the Oogie Boogie Man from taking over Halloween Town.

Now they do that the day before. I wish I was kidding. Me and my dad were out food shopping the day before Halloween and it was downright impossible to find the Halloween themed cereal. We went to four stores and out of that Target only had two brands while our local supermarket Hannaford had about four, maybe five or six if you want to count the monster cereal separately by each monster. Also the pumpkin spice stuff was very low too. I’ve never seen this before, it was crazy.

Did you know that oogie boogie was originally supposed to be Dr. Finkelstein? On Disney plus I you go to the "extras" tab there is a deleted storyboard video with the end sence of oogie boogie being defeated, but instead of bugs underneath his fabric it is Dr. Finkelstein, he wanted to teach Sally a lesson she would never forget.

He was absolutely correct in that decision. It would be a full 5 years after that point before a company tackled accurately replicating stop motion with CGI, Flushed Away was the first and it was very well done, kudos to DreamWorks! Then you have to skip forward a full 8 years to see Hollywood's next big and ever so successful attempt at doing that, which was The Lego Movie. Now that is the mainstream trend, most CGI animated films try to replicate a more traditional art form to varying levels of success. If they were to try to make a CGI sequel to The Nightmare Before Christmas today, they may be able to do it justice, but still think Tim would say no, and I wholeheartedly agree, The Nightmare Before Christmas is on a short list of films that should never be remade and should never have a sequel. Of course, I thought the same thing of Beetlejuice before Tim proved me wrong, so who knows!

For a start, thanks giving is unique to the USA. If they attempted a sequel, it should be a holiday that’s a little more universally known eg Easter. Jack with the Easter rabbit is a look id love to see. But a nightmare before Christmas is so unique, we would need a sequel to be totally different. And honestly, it’s really not necessary. But Disney loves to jump on the money train. And if there was a sequel it absolutely has to be in stop motion. CGI does not have the charm or magic that stop motion has.
