Beauty of non-potentiometer style analogue sticks lol. Modern ones can be replaced but need to be unsoldered from the board. I've done so with PS4 sticks, replacing the entire stick assembly and soldering a new one on, and had them still drift too, which seems to be either a PCB issue or something with the actual on board chip, not sure. Sometimes it fixes the issue, other times not.

My theory for the 'I love you' message in OOT is it was simply a 'hello world' type test string that the devs put in to make sure it displayed, then never saw a reason to remove it.

Bumper received parole seventeen years after the Conker interview, suggesting that's the minimum amount of time he spent in prison. If Bumper resides in the UK, which I'm assuming given his association with Rare, it seems most likely that Bumper was guilty of first degree murder, potentially of two or more peoples.

In Perfect Dark, there is one part of the game where you're kidnapped by aliens and lose all of your inventory/weapons. You have to get through at least part of the level with just a knife you find lying around. It was a very memorable and fun part of the game. I'm wondering how that worked in the Japanese version? Not having any items on you is pretty important to the plot. Without a knife though, you'd be completely helpless, the character can't fist fight as far as I recall Even replacing the knife with the weakest/most basic gun wouldn't come close to the same "survival mode" feeling having to get up close and personal to shank aliens did

I think it's worth mentioning a detail about Japanese culture when listening to what they say in interviews and such. "It would be difficult" and close variations of that phrase basically means that they already decided that there's no way they're going to do it but more polite than telling someone that they hate their idea or that you are bothering them. So yeah, knowing the use of the word "difficult" in Japan you might wanna keep in mind that it's much stronger than when someone in the west just describes that it was a bit challenging, it's more like impossible there.

I wish they’d take another crack at a “South Park” kart racer. So many new characters and vehicles have been added to the series since then: the Go Go Action Bronco, hybrid cars, the It, the goobacks’ hover conversions, the autonomous vehicles we saw in the recent specials, the rocket-powered Firebird that Kenny drove when he was cheesing, and on, and on. They could have a lot of fun with this idea, they just need to find the right studio to make it.

The _Mortal Kombat: Mythologies_ games were one of those situations where you can easily imagine what went wrong. It looks great on paper: re-use a bunch of what you've made for _Mortal Kombat_ already, don't assign many resources to it, sell it for full price and make good money. Then you get in there and realize that what seem like minor issues during planning aren't so minor.

The N64 era was truly the turning point for 3D games, and ushered in the new age of gaming. Though the PlayStation was already doing well, the N64's popularity from Mario Kart 64, SM64, etc., gave people a taste of 3D games. But, tbh, it's amazing to see how far we've come in gaming and how technologically, games can be developed to their full potential as the hardware they're on is capable of handling games. Even "last-gen" consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One push the boundaries of hardware and games from them (for example, Marvel's Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice) are better than ever. With each passing generation of gaming, it's cool to look at what really sparked 3D gaming and how the N64 revolutionized gaming as we know it today.
