It's interesting that they wanted people to use their finger on the DS, since it uses a resistive touch screen that can't really detect the touch of skin, but perfectly detects a stylus(modern phones use a capacitive touch screen that works the other way around, perfect for use with fingers but not styluses)

It did work with pressure, so while it seems counterintuitive nowadays, it worked just fine. Pressing the screen with a finger on games that didn't require that much interaction with the bottom screen, such as Pokemon, was just easier than holding/taking out the stylus.

Gonna say it every time, piracy =/= lost sales. Some of those people already have the game, others wouldn't have bought it in the first place, so it can't be considered lost sales. Perhaps, "unobtained revenue"?

As someone who has pirated games before, I would've bought some of them otherwise for sure. It's not every case, or even the majority, but there is a very legitimate reason game companies treat piracy the way they do

If a free alternative exists people will take it. With how difficult piracy is, you would only risk it if you were desperate. Anti-piracy is needed to protect early sales, however those holding out highlight a service issue. Piracy is a scapegoat for failed business. Look at Brazil, consoles and games are unobtainable in most of the country due to price, however they do play games. Studios lose no money to these people.

here i am, awake at 2:49, just now learning that the miracle cartridge that my uncle bought me was full of pirated games... as a kid i loved that "TT DS" cartridge because i could never get bored with it. i still have it and all the games inside, but it's warped and sits weirdly in my DS if i try to put it in.

I remember trying to get Pokemon diamond on an emulator on laptop when it came out cause I was a teen and poor and my dad seen me struggling so one day I came home he had bought a 3ds and loaded up a r4 card with it on for me and it was the first Pokemon game we both played at the same time helping each other with puzzles as we went after years of begging him to try any Pokemon game ❤️ I know it was illegal but its still on of my fav memories 🥺

Honestly I've always had tilt controls on because I thought it was funny scince i didn't have motion Controls, but i have a phob gcc so i might set it up to get soft drifts, or even might try and notch an oem gcc so that you don't gotta reset the controller
