Few facts. The expression from Rickman when dropped was genuine The stunt crew told him they'd go on a count of 3 but the director gave them the nod and they released him on one to capture his genune reaction. - The 'Fabio' brothers Karl and Tony were both played by actors who were originally accomplished ballet dancers - The drop through the vent was a failed stunt. He was supposed to reach the other side but missed and fell about 70 feet. The director decided to change the script and use the footage anyway - The actor who played Sgt Powell was on the brink of quitting acting when he won the role. @@heyitsmemg7494 It stems from the 12 and 13 century when the shortened names and then used rhymes and letter swapping, especially with popular names to specify individual people when addressing them. Richard was one of the most popular English names at the time, so it had a lot of variations. Ritch and Rick were popular versions that turned into Hitch and Dick. "Dick" was not used to mean "penis" until the 1830s, which was long before it was also used as a derogatory word for a jerk (That was the 1960s). At least in written language, but was probably used early in spoken word. It is believed to stem from the use of the word "dighte" by Chaucer to mean "kept outright" in reference to sex, as seen in the "Wife of Baths Prologue. That is just a common belief, though. There is a slightly similar sound.

In fact, Bruce Willis was at the bottom of a long list of actors offered the role. This includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford, Burt Reynolds, Mel Gibson, and several more. Willis, known at the time for comedic roles, originally turned it down due to his contract with the show "Moonlighting" but accepted when his co-star Cybill Shepherd became pregnant and production went into hiatus.

@@VirusSI I think your taking this a little to seriously. Of course I admit it exists when I have to but when I don't I can just ignore it like doesn't exist. I was making a joke on the fact that DH5 is so bad I just pretend it doesn't exist.

This is a perfect script. Every detail is pertinent to the story, characters, and motivations. Excellent. A Christmas story is another perfect christmas movie. Just saying.

Two reasons for the paper at the end of the film....... Office buildings had a tons of it because paper file were a thing back then, as computer files were still being adapted to, and 2) it was to simulate the xmas feeling of snow.

This is what action movies were like before everything went "kid-friendly" for ticket sales. These are the action movies I was raised on! I am so pleased that movies like John Wick and Deadpool brought back the shocking concept that when you shoot people, there will be blood, and that actually people in stressful situations swear a lot. And for proving that enough people will pay to see such movies to make them worth making. Long live hard-R action movies.

Fun fact: When John McClane is using his gun to climb into the vent the fall was never actually meant to happen. However in one of the final takes the stunt double missed the vent and fell and managed to grab the next vent as we see in the film and the directors preferred it and stuck with it

Gene Belcher: "Why is no one singing? Why is no one dancing? Die Hard: The Musical!": kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZWtaKewjrmfadk Bruce Willis wasn't the first choice for the role, since he was known as that "TV guy." Playing it as an ordinary, working-class guy, and not a "Rambo," made Bruce Willis a credible Action Star. Finally a song that (sorta) fits: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYqrnZh8e82ffM0

I love how there's over 800 comments, but only about 4 total observations: Rickman was dropped early, WM stands for William, paper comes out of an office building, and glass is worse than a stubbed toe.

Hanz calls him a cowboy because its like a sarcastic European insult for Americans. It's to imply that he is all guns blazing and no brains sort of thing. On the other hand the cop calls him a cowboy as a compliment. More of a one man army getting the job done sort of thing.

2 reasons for the paper, one it's supposed to represent the 640 million in bonds they stole, and two I imagine because this is LA, and it's supposed to be a Christmas movie it's also symbolizing snowfall (Which never happens in LA).

'Hopefully he doesnt stub his toe' - Hooo boy... A lot of people like the second one, I personally think its a bit too much of a rehash. My preference for second best is the third one which shakes things up and Jeremy Irons is such a fantastic villain, only person to come anywhere near Rickman. - Beyond that... yeah, Id give em all a miss, they just become frankly quite boring bog standard action flicks where John does absurd things and walks away with barely a scratch, which defeats the entire point of the character and deflates all the tension.
@Eidlones3 жыл бұрын
I go 1, 3, 2. Yeah 2 is very much a rehash, but it's still fun enough to consider it a part of the franchise. Unlike the... others.

The scope gets bigger every time. Die Hard: Office building (An all time classic, best action movie ever) Die Hard 2: Airport (Pretty entertaining) Die Hard with a Vengeance: New York (Excellent film) Die Hard 4.0 (Live Free or Die Hard): East Coast (Why PG-13!!??) A Good Day to Die Hard: Russia (Just... no.)

I didn't like the second one because of the over the top violence and the ridiculous plot twist. The third one has some originality, at least.
