Unfortunately, I realize now that, while Robert Downey Jr. played a respectful role, people who are filled with race-prejudice can't help but see every comic black character as a demeaning representation, that's just how these people think about black people, and these people, the OP is one, think that Robert Downey Jr. is mocking black people in his portrayal. While this is completely false, that is exactly what they think, and they constitute roughly 1 in 10 of the non-black audience of this film. This is why those few racially biased morons recommend this film to creators of color, especially to women, because they think that reviewing the film and watching the portrayal somehow humiliates black people (as it does in their simple minds). I have to point this out, because to a person of normal sensibilities, this isn't obvious at all, I didn't even realize this until I had a back-and-forth with a racist in a comment section. That's why I don't think creators notice until WAY too late that they are being subtly mocked by fascists. This is not Robert Downey Jr.'s fault, he did a good job of being respectful.
@annaclarafenyo81852 жыл бұрын
@@lawrencefrost9063 I am NOT saying that Robert Downey Jr's portrayal is bad or racist, it IS NOT, and that's actually a testimony to the film. What I am saying is that RACISTS aren't all that clever, and they don't understand that point, and just see Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal as a stereotypical performance, even though it is not.

26:09 you are NOT alone in feeling that way about Les Grossman 😆😆😆 this came out not too long after Tom Cruise got all weird with the scientology crap and I remember some people saying this role “redeemed” him for them. He even showed up in character at an awards show later that year IN CHARACTER and did a dance onstage complete with backup dancers…MTV Movie awards I think? It was spectacular 😂😂😂😂😂

This was so awesome! The rediculousness that is this movie! We also got Arianna to react to it and she almost died of laughter! One of the best reactions I've seen all year! Thank you!

This is sincerely one of the best reactions I've ever seen. You said you can't believe you went this long having not seen this movie, I can't believe I've not come across your channel until now.

Her reactions just take me back to when I saw this in theater for the first time. I had the same reactions.

I don't think I ever laughed as hard as I have at Kirk willing Speedman to "survive" after getting shot 30 times

I love so much that you watched this movie. Saw it in theater, one of my favorite comedies. And wildly under-rated.

I recall seeing this in the theater when it opened. Couldn't stop laughing. Arianna, lol, would've fit in perfectly with the set of friends that evening. Your laughter is contagious!

best line in the entire movie is "that's the theme song to the Jeffersons you need help" LOL.

This reaction was brilliant!!! 😂😂 You simply picked the greatest, funniest scenes that explained the arc of the story. I was pissing? Flatulating? or whatever myself watching this.

This has become my favorite film for Reactions; given the witty script, perfect performances, and a genuinely well-made film, this movie somehow slipped by many people at release and it's a blast seeing others experience it now. Also, it becomes even funnier with multiple watches.

Love this reaction, I forgot how funny it was. I remember seeing it in theaters. I legit had no idea Les was Tom Cruise. When his credit came up at the end, I remember half the theater being shocked it was Cruise. One of funniest movies ever.

I'm SO glad you both watched this!----- Tom Cruise's best character by far. Him dancing at the end is epic.----- Gotta give props to Robert Downey Jr. as well.----- AS a black man I have no problem with equal opportunity laughter. Folks need to get over themselves and give the PC train a rest.
@reservoirdude922 жыл бұрын
Man, ain't that the truth? Those people who willfully ignore the satire and go straight being offended FOR black folks who may or may not (but usually do) think it's hilarious, are stupid as hell.
@cctomcat3212 жыл бұрын
Is it still 2016? I thought the only people still on the "PC train" are either people who are professionally upset at everything, and people who can't stop complaining about "PC culture, SJWs, and cancel cultute."

As a white person I don't understand what there is to be mad about, at what point in the movie did the makers express it's okay to do something like that? They were making fun of a crazy white guy who were insanely into method acting 🤣🤣 I wish everyone was as chill as you about it

Given that RDJ said Sean Penn dropped out, I wondered if the Sean Penn joke was added to the script after that?

Watching this was just too much fun. Every time Arianna would laugh, it would get me laughing too. Great movie.
@hardyjenns2 жыл бұрын
This is the best comedy of the last 20 years. I’ve probably watched at least a dozen of these TT reax and your’s is easily the best. Parody requires perspective in a way that doesn’t translate sometimes (I’m speaking directly to those who criticize RDJ for his role), especially if it’s before one’s time. But you clearly got it right away, which was fun to watch along with. Thank you so much!
