A bit of a life saver as i bought this unit but somehow lost the manual. The comments here were very helpfull. I plan to install this in the cabin. I want to run the air intake from above the woodstove, and the air exhaust into the bedrooms. That way it will only burn once the woodstove is cooled down, but will still move air to the bedrooms when the stove is hot.

I like that logic, those heat powered stovetop fans work good for moving the hot air too

Thank you I have the same heater and it’s the controller I needed info on and you have me that. Thank you 😊 it’s a shame these units don’t come with a remote control.

We've got one of the cheapie 5kw heaters in our caravan. It's awesome! I just use the remote to turn the heater on and off. Saves fluffing around with the controller. It will be interesting to see if you find that 2kw is big enough as I'm glad that we went for the 5kw instead of the 2kw option. P.s. I've had our sbms0 fully operational for over a week now and loving it! We will however have to add more solar panels for winter :)

5kW must be wicked, and probably quieter. I don't have the remote kit though it looks like it would plug right in. Once I work out some window insulation I should theoretically only need about 1.3kW for the space, theoretically haha. That SBMS0 is a great bit of kit, just waiting on a couple more bits to finish my powerboard and I will hook mine back up

hi mate good video, would you buy the same again. i,m a bit worried about buying the cheaper ones, but i like the look of the jp cheers john from uk
@BusedAsNZ3 жыл бұрын
Yes, in an instant. There are also much cheaper ones than JP and a lot of people have good experiences with them too but I feel like the JP which looks to be a Webasto clone is worth the extra expense, while of course still being pretty cheap. I only use it in winter, it starts every time and runs great.

Curious if you have found a way to run in thermostat mode without the fan continuing to run after the set temperature is reached.
@BusedAsNZ4 жыл бұрын
No, only low speed. I hate fan noise but I guess it needs the air movement to know the cabin temperature anyway.
@cmiller45674 жыл бұрын
@@BusedAsNZ hmm interesting point. I figured the thermostat was built into the control unit but you're probably right.

@@cmiller4567 There is a remote heat sensor available, I have one, but the heater does keep running the fan.

Twice the price of the cheapest ones, and half the price of an Espar unit locally. That controller is so much nicer than the cheapest units, though. I found the ticking of the pump annoying so took steps to isolate the sound and even relocated the pump furthest from the bed. The first night I turned it on I felt like a rich man.
@BusedAsNZ4 жыл бұрын
Yes it's a nice tidy controller, and pretty straight forward once I got my head around it though its pretty fussy when you try to press two buttons at once. Looks like it has a few deeper menus that are not mentioned in the manual. I cant hear the tick inside, will see how it sounds overnight next weekend

@@BusedAsNZ I have the same heater and am trying to figure out what these other options are. Apparently there is a high altitude mode that the company posted a youtube video for yet its not documented. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6nRi6Gmj6ubhLc. Currently in contact with the company to get an updated manual.
@BusedAsNZ4 жыл бұрын
Yes there are definitely more options hidden in there. I doubt you will ever see them in a user manual though since they could really stuff things up. More likely a service or workshop manual. Some of the facebook groups and other forums discuss them but the standard settings are ideal for my situation

I have the same heater set to run gasoline. I am a bit disappointed with the wide range that the thermostat runs, but it does seem like a good heater. I am pushing hard to get an explanation of the other options. I have explored the menus and watched all the videos I can find. I have asked JP and the Canadian distributor. JP has said I have to ask the Canadians. The Canadians say they are working on it. Here is what I have so far: Settings Menu: 1 Press Power button to stop heating 2 Press left button to get to the clock icon 3 Press left and right buttons together, This gets us to the P Menu Menu will display P1, or P2 (fuel prime mode) or I get --05 not --01 (I cannot factory reset according to instructions) On P1, Press OK then the C Menu displays Press OK, you are in the C1 settings Menu (There are two menus) left and right arrows move between them. C1 Menu (With my current settings): 00:of 01:on Celcius Fahrenheit mode: on is Celcius, of is Fahrenheit 02:on Language of is Chinese on is English 03:of 04:of High Atltitude mode settings: on is on, of is off (Must disconnect LCD plugg after setting) 05:of 06:of 07:10 C2: Menu (With my current settings): 00:03 01:00 02:of 03:of 04:of 05:of 06:of 07:of
