This worked for my modern, “super safe spill proof auto shut off, unleakable, incredibly difficult to pour” 5 gal fuel can. I just had to take a pair of tin snips and mangle the spout part enough to free the ring collar. This is fine bc the can will be my permanent fuel can for the heater.

I have done the exact same thing on 3 Diesel Jerry cans with a small addition: To ensure no air is entrained into the fuel line, I added a small FEMALE Hydraulic Quick disconnect on the fuel line & on the 3 stand pipes, a corresponding male fitting disconnect. Yea it cost me ~ $90 Cdn, BUT… zero issues whenever I need to switch over to a full. No air entrained in the fuel line -Heater starts up every time. Quick disconnects worth their weight in Platinum..!

How does your tank breathe when the heater is in use? Is the white thing on the tank manual or a one way breather valve? I like and will use your set-up inside my camper-van but prefer a one way breather valve to keep any diesel smell out. Might be tricky as those little pumps don't create a lot of suction. Thanks, Good work!
@cannonballrepair79402 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes that white thing is a fuel filter for a weed eater, it will allow the tank to breathe. You can use a one-way valve to do the same thing. I leave my tank in that Festy year round and don’t get an odor of diesel. Those little heaters are nice.
