Great video Dave and very relevant to me today. Got a 1.6 caddy 2014 in this morning running rough with injector 4 P code. runs ok till injector heats up and as you said Ecm turns power off to that injector when it faults and glowplug light will flash. i was able to catch the fault with the scope as the injector got hot and see the Ecu turn the power off. quick resistance and insulation test to confirm and it failed. Other 3 passed at 100volts and about 200k ohms. And when it cooled down it passed the resistance and insulation test. So off to VW Monday for a new injector. You enjoying the new Pico. Good one there Mark. Yes, i think it's the heat of the engine that is a factor in breaking down the piezo crystals and contributing to the high failure rate, hence a lot of manufacturers have moved back to solenoid (mass solenoid). I did a vid on the wee piezo pick up tool i used and showed a change in temperature varies the output on a kitchen tap. The Pico 4425a is the daddy for automotive for sure and the auto ranging, auto zeroing, self powered amp clamp is a great addition. Need deep pockets tho. Cheers Dave

Had one go bad and dumped us on the motorway. Got a P0203 and confirmed with ohms test 0.8ohm short ckt. Question is: replace all 4, as car's done a massive 41k? 🙄🤪 Great vid, Dave! 👌🏻

Great video Dave, by the look of the current and voltage traces it looks like they are shunting the back EMF through the coil to collapse the piezo stack and is the little dog leg on the negative current pulse mechanical movement of the injector closing off?, that's what it looks like to me anyway.

Davy it's not related to this video but have you ever had anyone ask you about a tapping noise from the 2018 2.0tdi CR motors?

Nothing comes to mind. Freshest TDI i would get is about 2015 up to euro5. Anything after that are TFSI
