Hi Biodgit, thank you for this video, it saved the day for me. My ranger 2.2l injectors sprayed today after a long battle trying to fix it. One of the 4 injector actually is faulty, prevented the rest from spraying consequently of course the vehicle couldn't start for months.

What's the best way to find a leaky diesel injector. Car isn't hard to start lots of white smoke smells of diesel done a chemical test and pressure test for head gasket I believe it could be a bad ECU driver causing it to stick open I don't have a lab scope to check the dwel time in relation to the other injectors

Hi, mate, one of the easiest ways to do it is to block off an injector 1 at a time. If you watch some of my latest videos on the Volkswagen, you will see I do this. There is a little tool you can buy. Or you can make your own from an old. Injector feed pipe And then simply block one-off at a time. See how easy it is to start and see if the white smoke stops.

Hi mate I always say get the best fuel you possibly can and I always say it's always handy to have some oil in your car because if you have to go to a place you do not know or if you just happen to get a dodgy tank of diesel you can always add the oil this will save a lot of damage but will make the car smoke but at least it will save damage to injectors and the pump

Can you do this leak off test on all CRD injectors? I think some injectors are high pressure return and this test must be avoided on these types of injectors. Some CRD injectors have bolt on solid pipework on the returns. I think these may be high pressure return. Whereas some have simple clip on plastic or rubber return pipework. With this type I presume they're low pressure returns.????

it's not a simple answer you obviously don't know what goes into them very special check valves special rotary valves special injectors Springs ball bearings they are so complicated it could be 101 things causing it to leak back impossible to say until you actually strip it down and see what the actual issue is with the injector you happen to be testing

Leon, i've got the 2.2 tdci 155 BHP in my mondeo 54 plate. I've seen on several places that they say with these injectors that you have to test them when the are at full engine operating temperature and go through different engine speeds to get a proper leak off results. Why are there so many different ways of testing diesel injectors and which ones are correct? Does it depend on manufacturer of the car or type of injector? www.fordwiki.co.uk/index.php/Injector_Leak-Off_Test The test condition i was told to follow are in the link below and it says that this is the Delphi test method as they are Delphi injectors. this is why I get so confused with the lack of direction for testing injectors. Is there a right way or wrong way? Is it a "One size fits all" test?
@bodgitandleggitgarage4 жыл бұрын
Hi mate the only real way to test injectors 100% roperly is to take them off and gave them to somebody with the machines to test the flow back pressure everything what this test Does It just gives you a quick indication of what's going on believe me this test is good enough to know that your injectors are damaged I will be doing another video and how to do if your injectors are leaking into the cylinders but like I said this is good enough to know if your injectors are ok or if they have an issue this is just a quick and easy test to see if there is an issue no matter what anyone says it's good enough the next step is to take them out and get them reconditioned
