Hey Ron, your videos are awesome! One thing that I think was omitted for those who have never pulled a turbo (unless I missed it) was to also disconnect the VGT solenoid wiring.

Ron, just wanted to thank you for your willingness to share your knowledge and experience. The dealership wanted to charge me $1200 to clear the turbo - your 2 videos provided the guidance I needed to do it myself. Thanks again ! steve

I don't know international part numbers. But the answer is yes. If you want the turbo whine/whistle then install an 03 on any year. 03 do have a different base or mount that has to be changed but the rest bolts right up

Ron, Love the videos. I have a 02 7.3. I don't have any issues other than I've noticed my mileage just isn't like it used to be. The engine has just over 200000 miles. My truck has the mpg counter or indicator just above the rear view mirror. When the truck was fairly new the indicator would read about 345 miles after a fill up, now it shows about 268, but my odometer trip will show that I get 316 miles per tank. Do you have any suggestions on how I can get my milage back up to 345 per tank. Or you may know a tip or trick that I'm just not covering. Oil and filters changed every 5000 miles. Thanks in advance! Larry

You do not know what you can loose until you have lost it. Just think of what we lost when we lost Ron. His wife lost a husband, his kids lost a father, his neighborhood probably lost a good friend, and we lost so much as he would have graduated to the 6.4l and the 6.7l not to mention his FICM repair and the links to sources for good parts for good prices. RIP Ron as the rest of us are fighting our way through problems that you could have solved for us.

Man thanks very much for this video, I could not figure out how to get to that back bolt but ur vid made it possible and I'm going to make mine instead of paying snapon a bunch of money plus ur other video really was a big help for me removing my turbo and egr setup if it wasn't for guys like u us shade tree guys wouldn't stand a chance taking this bad boy apart so thanks for ur time and effort helping us save big bucks instead of paying ford for something that should of been a recall, I mean what good does it do to have a engine that will last 500,000 miles only to have something this stupid go bad at 60,000 miles it's a joke and should of been ran on the outside making it easy to get to, so thanks a million I sporeciate ut greatly, Harry Haithcoat just another do it ur selfer lol

the 2005 oil cooler i just did took me like 45 min to get the turbo out, but i also had the alt, oil filterhousing/fuel filter housing off, since they ahd to come off anyways. but that rear exaust clamp(inlet side) i had the same issue just covered in pen fluid and heard it pop.

We just bought an 04 a little over a month ago - has run fine but all of a suddn having crank/no start. watched some of your videos - have bought tester...checkd ICP seems fine/no wiring issue we can find. Test show IPR goes to 85, but almost no ICP press. Took chance ordered IPR - got turbo and IPR, o rings not great - scrn has crack on the plastic and had to pull out of HPOP. Put new IPR in - is it poss to test now or must all reassemble first? Not reading any ICP now (tried turning over)

The 6 point box wrench you made for rear bolt on an 03 turbo...does it have any offset? I know snap-on sells a wrench made for it with a 0 degree offset (straight) but the wrench that you made it looks like it might have an offset...maybe 15 degree? Before I went and bought the snap-on Id prefer to just use a wrench I already have. Thanks

I cant get warm air in the cab on my F250 w/6.0 unless the engine is 1800 rpm or higher, I have replaced the heater core, water pump , checked the thermostat and hose routing. If you keep the recovery tank overfull it seems to help . Also replaced the coolant cap , Repo truck so I have no history, 200K miles Seems like there is something missing around the water pump but don't know what it is. Also has a delete. Any Ideas ?

hi. I have an 04 ford f350 6.0 . with a production date of 07 03 and It has an oil leak.. valve covers look dry. it seems like it is coming from behind the turbo and it drips on both side to the tranny. it drips more on the starter side. I am hoping it is the ipr valve or the icp sensor but I cant find them . can you please tell me where they are at. I have read that they are behind the turbo but while watching you do it I could not see everything. thanks and god bless.. I checked and my Icp sensor is not on passengers side valve cover.

1693caterpillar Oh, gotcha. Can't answer your question, but I can tell you your turbo cares just as much about quality oil and regular oil change intervals as your injectors do. It's probably the single most important thing you can do to take care of a 6.0.
@1693caterpillar10 жыл бұрын
redin575 Your dead right about the the oil. I use synthetic oil in mine to keep it well lubed and to keep those H.E.U.I. injectors from sticking. Thanks....
