I get a lot of questions on my website. Most are about a no start on the 6.0 and deal with the high pressure system. So I made this video hoping to break it down and explain what is going on and how it works. Well as much as I could without making an epic movie.

@@johnarnold1259 I know a friend that had his truck worked by him. My friend balled his eyes out when he found out the bad news. I would like to say that i was recently working on a 2003 F450 6.0 powerstroke. I took the engine out redid Almost all the seals and gasket put it back and it wont start. I looked online for help because i was Sure i had put back everyting and every connector back properly. I have 15 years experience working on cars/ trucks so i was certain it wasnt something mechanical.. i had to look online for help and i came across Your channel.. You taught and improved my diesel knowledge soo much .. teaching me and all of us about IPRs and ICPs.. the next day ..which was yesterday.. i went to work with a confidant attitude and checked it narrowed it down and got it RUNNING.. Sir you have saved me... Your kindness still touches us RON R.I.P.

I've been watching your videos for years and you've helped fix a lot of problems on my own with my '05 f250 6.0. My problem now after two years of Zero problems including many thousand mile road trips I've noticed now that when getting into the pedal at about 2500-3k rpm it sounds like it's not getting fuel and sound strained. Any help would be great. Guessing FICM which is stock. Upgrades arp head studs, new head gaskets, cat/muff delete, K&N intake, 6.4 banjo bolt, mbrp 4" straight pipe 6"outlet, egr deleted, blue spring , coolant filtration. just telling what's on truck if anyone has a good guess let me know. Sluggish at high rpm. Normal driving no problem. But I've put $ in this truck and it's fun to get on it without something breaking finally

Ron, I have a 2005 6.0 that I'm racking my brain on. I bought the truck with a blown EGR cooler (misdiagnosed by a "shop" as HG), and got all that done thanks to your videos. Now, it won't run for more than 15 minutes, and will not restart until at least overnight. The FICM is good, and I've changed the IPR screen (it wasn't very dirty at all, but changed it just to be sure, with no change in condition). The ICP is good (800+ when attempting to start), even when it won't restart. I can command the IPR to a higher percentage, which results in the ICP increasing, but it still won't restart. Fuel pressure is constantly near 60 psi, even when it won't restart. Fuel bowl quickly refills after being drained. I feel confident that it's not a HPOP system issue due. The oil is fresh. Motorcraft oil & fuel filters. FICM sync & CKP/CMP sync both show good on the scanner. I have recorded all the data points the past few times I've started it, up till the moment it dies, if you want any more info. Thank you for any help you can give!!

Hi,Ron, your videos have been very beneficial. I have a specific issue that I don't think you have covered yet. I took your advise and purchased the scangauge II which is a great tool. Has helped a lot. But even with this, I've had this in the dealership tiwice and they have not been able to resolve the problem. My scenario is a is a hot no start. Anything over 165 degrees oil teemp, it will not start. When watching icp, during crank no start, the psi will hang between 15-25 PSI, and get no higher. As soon as the oil cools off, the vehicles starts and runs great. I have never seen a pressure register between 35-500 PSI. So I don't think I have a dummy plug, or leak anywhere and the dealership could not find any oil leaks. Their next step is to replace the pump, but that is expensive, and I'm just not convinced. I've watched the high pressure going down the road, and it is pumping great, very high pressure and low demand needed. It always starts cool, and has never died on me going down the road. It just does not sound like a pump issue. Oh, one more important piece of info. It also "always" starts hot if I try and restart it within a few seconds it will always restart, only if I let it sit a few minutes, only then will it NOT start while hot until it cools way down. Could it be starving for oil for some reason? Could the oil be draining back out while hot, but as long as I start immediately it's not a problem. What keeps oil up by the pump? Does low pressure pump serve the high pressure pump? Any helpful hints would be appreciated.
