Hi in this video I show the installation of Bulletproof's remote mounted oil cooler on the Ford 6.0 Powerstroke. To cut down the length I only show the install where it differs from a regular oil cooler install. If you need a 100% complete step by step video then watch the other video on bulletproof's EGR cooler install.

I have been using Rons videos for 1 year now- he has saved my butt over and over and over- working on my truck today and using his videos but I cannot do anything on it without thinking about his passing over and over- sometimes when I get stumped I close my eye and say "Help me out here Ron" Everyday I work on my truck I think about how unfair it was for someone who has helped so many to have passed so soon. I wish I would have had the opportunity to personally thanks Ron for all the unselfish helps he gives me. Never any BS and wasted talking- right to the point- complete instructions with helpful tips all along the way- I never knew you but I sure miss you and think about you buddy!

You're a great mechanic man. I appreciate the patience and time you take in all your videos to explain and show each step while offering your own advice and preferences to help others with their problems. Tips and tricks you've learned over the years is gained from experiences through process. You sharing those is a privilege to listen to and watch. Most will show you how to do it but you all around are there to help make sure things are done right and as easy as possible. You don't have to make these videos and they're not made for your benefit but solely directed to those that want to work on their own vehicles. Thanks again. This is why I'm subscribed to your channel.

lorax1968 the water to liquid cooler is more efficient
@DougHanchard
@DougHanchard 9 жыл бұрын
+lorax1968 Actually, this aftermarket external mount is air cooled AND water re-circulation in the cast body's. The advantage of this design is that it is mounted away from saturated heated air in the valley of the engine block. The disadvantage of air only coolers in cold climates is that you would risk oil blockage (gelling) without the water / antifreeze circulating in the unit. If you never leave Arizona or Texas, this is almost a non-issue.

Do you recommend adding a after market by pass oil filter kit such as OCS or Sinister Diesel ? What temp thermostat and type (factory or Mishimoto) ? Would a Mishimoto radiator be a cost effective upgrade. ? Live in Oregon with mild winters but will use the truck mainly for towing and traveling. Factory Ford Warranty on truck not extended but factory .
@DieselTechRon
@DieselTechRon 8 жыл бұрын
We almost never see an oil related failure on these motors, esp if the proper filter is used. so I would not out money in the extra filtering of the oil, same with the thermostat. almost no factory or rare factory failure. the radiator actually is an upgrade, yes if needed I would replace it with theirs. take out a perfectly good one? in a cool climate? no. a coolant filter on these is s good idea and keeping up on the fuel filters. Try to only start it and run it when it can be driven long enough to be warmed up all the way. otherwise condensation builds up which is moisture or water in the systems

@lilahfreeman9849

Everyone thinks it was every single 6.0 that had issues which is wrong. In 03 ford needed a new diesel motor ASAP because the old 7.3 didn't the the manditory emmision parts. So ford took a gamble on the 6.0 in the F series and E series with out the proper testing. If the proper testing would of been done before hand. Majority of these flaws would of been corrected from the beginning and would of had another 7.3. International installed the 6.0 in a ton of commercial vehicles. They never had any of these flaws and was going for ever. My buddies party bus had 530000 miles before he traded it in for a new 6.7 PS. 3 turbos replaced before 80k
@andrewb9708
@andrewb9708 8 жыл бұрын
Does anyone know if a similar kit will work on the E-series 6.0 powerstroke? The only option I've seen is the $2200, rape you in the ass option from bulletproof diesel. In all honesty, the kit should be more like $1000 max, $2200 for an oil cooler is approaching aviation part prices.

+Andrew B ... do not forget to send a "thank you " note to Fix Or Repair Daily. These trucks are money machines for dealer service centers. Try trading one in at a dealer and then that is the second price shock. It is almost as if they closed there eyes when they designed these engines. With the cheap price of gasoline a big block would be cheaper...Oppps they do not offer a big block... and do not stand behind their warranty.. Ain't that nice.
