I'd like to add one more strange thing about a fruitarian diet: They define fruit as whatever English speaking people would spontaneously call fruit. Botanically that doesn't make any sense - fruit is the seed-bearing structure. Apples are fruits, yes, but so are bean pods, zucchini, tomatoes and wheat grains. Nuts are fruits, too. Olive oil and spices like paprika and vanilla are made from fruits, as well. And why are seeds without a sweet fleshy structure around them (like flax seeds) not okay but eating the seeds in a banana is fine?

There is no such thing as a balanced vegan diet. There will always be deficiencies no matter what, we are predominantly carnivorous omnivores. We need a lot of red meat, organs, fish, seafood, poultry, eggs, animal fat and raw milk/dairy to be in optimal health.
@SjofnBM19895 жыл бұрын

5 жыл бұрын
@@SjofnBM1989 Those "fortified foods" and "supplements" are extremely bad for you, they're all synthetic chemicals that do more harm then good in the long run. Eat naturally to be healthy, if you need to take supplements or eat fortified foods (such as those unhealthy breakfast cereals or soy milk), then the diet is clearly unhealthy. One example is Vitamin B12, its way better absorbed from something like wild-caught salmon, then it is from a synthetic pill. And the pill of course is obtained using toxic methods, making it extremely unhealthy. Better to just eat real foods, then take fake pills. Not to mention that there are no drawbacks to eating quality raised animals, only advantages, so why avoid them if trying to be healthy?

Elvira Formiconi because instead of raising my young children on a diet that includes meat when they can not grasp the concept of the production of meat and non vegetarian products.I would allow them to make dietary choices when they understand, I would of preferred to be raised vegetarian instead of looking back now thinking of how I increased the demand in non vegetarian products as well as being sheltered of what goes into the production of the meat when I was younger. If my child decides to eat meat when they understand the concept and process of meat then so be it I would not stand in their way. It’s not like I’m a radical vegetarian who hates all meat eaters for their choices, my boyfriend is and always has been consuming meat but as he understands the process and if it wasn’t commercially available he would be able to do the process of hunting and gathering meat I have nothing against his choices so I believe if one understands what food goes through to end up on your plate and you would be able to do the entire process of how meat is made one has a justification of said diet.

@ In the modern day, we can take supplements. I've been pollo-pescotarian for a few years and am starting to go vegan, so I'll admit to having little knowledge on this subject, but to my knowledge, algae-based omega 3 supplements should currently be sufficient, as quite a large number of people are alive, healthy, and vegan. From a moment of research, to which I cannot attest, it appears that algae does have DHA and EPA levels comparable to those in fish. Historically, we have been know as an omnivorous race, but that does not mean that we need to eat meat, what with the rise in technology. Again, vegans are alive as proof that we do not need to rely on meat consumption.
5 жыл бұрын
@@coreykenku1723 Just because the vegans are alive, does not make them healthy. Also supplements are incredibly toxic and should only be used as a last resort, not as a method of replacing a healthy omnivorous whole-foods diet with an extremely deficient diet such as veganism or fruitarianism. If you are currently eating chicken and fish, I would strongly advise you to not go vegan. Do more research on the fat-soluble vitamins: A, D, E, K. And you will see why we need to eat some animal products to be in optimal health.

Abbey was certainly kinder than I would be on this issue. Being a fruitarian during pregnancy and early childhood is getting very close to child abuse. As AS points out, neurological development is not well supported by a fruit diet, and could easily lead to developmental problems and learning disabilities. Most fruitarians forget that their mothers didn't raise them on a fruit diet, they adopted the diet long after their neurological development was complete.

The baby is not (yet) malnourished in any way visible and its actually upsetting seeing people say it looks unhealthy, dragging the rest of us to her page to see for ourselves a normal, petite baby. @Rebster yup, tried that at first and it didnt help. Now that i've been fasting and carnivore (6/7 months) i can now tolerate 1/4th a cup of veggies and fruit. So i do try to keep it as fodmap friendly as possible. I still get nauseous and bloat to the point i look 9 months pregnant for 4-6 hours but it doesnt make me deathly ill anymore to where i vomit blood or have to stay in the er for days.

I think it's very scary how restrictive some parents have become. I was very sick as a baby and child and I am a 100% sure I wouldn't have survived on that diet for even a month with my bad immune system.

A lot of westerners (not all) like this, practicing veganism are totally misinterpret the whole veganism concept...I repeat not everyone.. I lived in India for 4 years and I had colleagues who are vegan for generations and I’m truly amazed at their food... a totally balanced diet with a combination of lots of vegetables , fruits and greens...and the food was heavenly... lots of flavor with spices and the variety... lot of this popular vegan culture I see on social media is just a disaster of unflavored and unhealthy amount of food But at the same time hats off to those westerns who do it right with a proper understanding of what veganism truly is

Thank you for reviewing this couple, even though they make me so frustrated and sad. I appreciate that you BUST these Myths that fad and destructive diets are “healthy” and “sustainable”. Impressionable minds may idealize youtubers like this and find themselves in destructive eating habits. I love your mentality of balance and nutrition, not fad and restriction. It’s truly rearranged my thoughts and turned me away from a negative relationship with food to a positive and fulfilling one. So thank you, thank you, thank you!

@@bobcharles9461 I used to say that, I used think vegetarians were dumbshits, I'd never even heard of a vegan but I was told to look up something healthwise and I became vegan. Being vegan is easy, you will eat a lot more different food as a vegan and there are realistic meat replacements but just fruit is a joke

Taimo Tõnisson so that’s why vegans are the only group with an average bmi in the healthy range. why so many of the strongest animals are vegan. why the high saturated fat content of animals products has been proven to cause heart disease and cancers. why the whole food plant based diet allows you to get all your nutrients naturally. why meat is a carcinogen. why fruit, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds are considered healthy. but go off i guess
@80slimshadys5 жыл бұрын
@@TTR83 that's uneducated conjecture. The healthiest longest living population is the 20% of The Seventh Day Adventists that are vegan, less rates of disease, average of 10 years longer life expectancy, higher nutrient levels. There is nothing you need from meat (fish is "meat" by the way) that you can't get from plants, most of which you get more of. People don't get sick from lack of meat, they get sick because they don't eat properly and or have underlying issues from the lifetime of damage done from eating a shit diet that contained meat, dairy, eggs, junk food, alcohol and drugs hence why there are so many people that were raised vegan that do not have health problems decades on, because they had no damage from toxins in animal products, lack of fibre etc to begin with. All the problems they face can be fixed within the vegan diet.
@96unicorns5 жыл бұрын
That was such an amazing video for so many reasons! Firstly, thank you for distinguishing this from a vegan diet and secondly, that was such a great way to talk about her diet without assassinating her character. The truth is most of the people that put their kids on such restrictive diets do it because they think that's best and by just laughing at them we are doing a disservice to them, their children and whoever else might be following their advice. There's nothing better than calming exploring their right and wrong ideas rather than promoting some us versus then mentality.
