Difference in LT packages for C6 Corvettes

I have learned the hard way, the two must have options on your C6 is to remove your radio disk player and replace with a touch screen with Waze voice over music, the second would be a good radar detector mounted right under the mirror and neatly wired to the mirror wiring. The radar detector is a necessity as Waze can only save you if someone already tagged them. Sometimes you are the first there.

@@hwanjung8230 I installed a high end kENWOOD with wireless android auto. 2 years ago there was only 1 model with this feature but looking at the Kenwood website there are now many wireless for Android and Apple. Using the wireless is a heavy drain on the phone battery as it uses both bluetooth and wifi to connect but the advantage is for those quick hops. As soon as you get in the car your Waze is on the screen. If I am going for a longer ride then I use the USB connector as that also charges my battery. But it is always those quick runs that you dont bother plugging in the USB that you get caught doing something stupid, lol. With the wireless connection that problem goes away. I have a Pioneer in my truck that is not wireless but feature and sound wise I like the Kenwood better.

Scooped up a black 2009 4LT back in September and absolutely love it. It’s optioned to the hills lol and someone even put a mild to wild switch and touchscreen CarPlay head unit in it. I absolutely love it and you weren’t kidding when you said not many people ordered it. I looked up the numbers and only 449 or so were built in that trim. Thanks for the breakdown

I think my car is a 4LT....My 08 convertible also has drilled rotors, and magna ride, along with all of the other goodies mentioned for the 4LT, i.e. two tone leather, HUD, power heated seats, Bose touch screen GPS, paddle shifters, etc.... I have an 08 coupe with the same you have except the magna ride. However, I read on Corvette forum that your package designation is inside the glove box stamped on a plate near the key fob receiver. Mine says 3lt but I have everything you described. I got for the price of a base coupe, it’s in excellent shape, with low miles and I love driving it. It was in the winter when I bought it and the guy really wanted to get rid of it.

My 07 has all the stuff you mentioned, but also has 'touch screen' - kind of like an infotainment screen, Drilled and slotted rotors, Z51 brakes, Magnetic ride suspension, AM, FM, Sirius; Chrome (highly polished aluminum) 5 spoke wheels and both the painted and clear (smoke) roof tops. I believe it is a 3LT with other options that may have been ordered. I didn't get it new - 2yrs old when I got and still have it. Not a single issue with it in 14 years I've had it. 53,000 on the clock

Stay away from the 4lt because the leather can start to pull away from the dash & peel /ripple causing an expensive fix

Yes. In the ‘12s and ‘13s, the 2LT gave you the HUD and the 9 (!) speaker Bose upgrade.

Hi: Lyle just bought 2006 Corvette C 6 convertavle with 3LT package car has 41,000 Klm and is in mint condintions. New tire, just balanced but get vibration from above 80 KLm or 50 miles per hour and gets worse as you speed up. Bought car from a sr fellow original owner so convined car never driven hard. Not sure if this is drive line vibration, rear Diff or rear drive axle vibration. How would you test for such a condition. It was a stand-alone option that was not available if you picked the Z51 option---other than that, you could get it if you wished on everything but the Z06 if my memory serves. Lyle

1LT is a manual top . 3LT for sure is a power top. I THINK I have seen some 2LTs also with a power top.

I have a 2007 corvette. Where would I find information on cleaning the rain “udders”? I am getting water on the driver side floor board.

The C6 doesn't have udders on the LH side...it is just a rectangular rubber flap that opens enough to let water out. The only way to clear it is to remove the plastic cowl under the wiper arms and physically clean the debris out of it. It is not normally an issue on the C6 with the re-designed rubber flap, but if you have enough junk in there is can block off the opening completely. I suggest water testing the car with a hose to see if you can identify exactly where the water is entering the car...I would guess weatherstrip issues would be more likely. Lyle

It is possible, but cost can run up near $6K-$9K by the time you pay labor, flash the ecu and purchase/install the new wiring harnesses involved. You would be better served just buying a newer C6, in my opinion. Lyle

Hi C&S! I just bought a 2010 GS LT4 and it came with 2 roofs, a color matched one and a see-through one. The sea-through one is cracked in a place that causes leaking so I'm using the color matched. All this to ask, if I wanted to get that roof fixed, the one that's sea-through, who would I go to to get that done? Thanks!

The C5's had 1SB and 1SC option groups--similar to the C6, but there were far fewer options on the C5 overall. Lyle

I have a 2012 C6 GS 1LT, had a 2010 C6 GS 3LT , don’t miss any of the overrated extra whistle and bells and options of the 3LT. Glad I didn’t pay for the extra options on the 3LT , that was on the first owner. I have added HUD,rearview camera,cloth embroidered Grand Sport emblem on seats, mild to wild (remote) and many other goodies all for about $500. I’m not knocking any of the other trim options and if they come with those trim options from the first owner that’s great. But it doesn’t take a lot to upgrade the 1LT to the next two upper trims, get creative and love whatever trim package. Great video!

I have 2010 with 3LT. I don't get it. Why does everybody say how desirable, and addictive, the HUD is? I usually have mine turned down to zero visibility. I've got a tach & speedo in the dash. I've got oil temperature on the DIC. The only thing I use in the HUD is the rare times I care what g-forces I'm generating by my driving. For the cost, plus considering the expense of the special windshield to support it if you need to replace a damaged one, I think HUD is absolutely avoidable. IMHO

I have noticed, too, that most call it heads up display. It is head up display. My Cadillac has one and I do like the speed limit on the display when available. Speed enforcement seems to be increasing in my area.

@@edarcuri182 yeah, overzealous ticket producing lawmen are a totally legit benefit of that Disneyland ghost writing on the windshield. Heads up must have found favor because of the often yelled warning when something is screaming full speed directly at your noggin’, unless it’s a right brain/left brain reference. I doubt it has anything to do with conjoined twins: too rare.

Take the late 1950s Vettes - they had NOTHING , even crank windows and everybody LOVES THEM and loves driving them.
