Well done, yet the first half of this video describes a minor distinction. The main difference between old time and bluegrass is all-rhythm (OT) vs. rhythm and solo improvisational flatpicking (BG). Cart before the horse ...

LOL Dude No Nope Nada in any way shape or for of the G... Many Many Many Good Blue Grass Pickers are of the Old School
@dionst.michael14822 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was wondering what the hell he was even talking about. I've NEVER seen a flat picker chord a G like that (meaning, muting the low C-note like he claimed...like EVER. Not to mention the fact that the g run which is the heart and soul of any good traditional bluegrass song includes that low C note prominently...even when simply chording. If anything a bluegrass player MAY mute the entire chord to get that nice dry thump sound bluegrass rythym is known for but not just the one C note. Now the rest of his tutorial I won't question but that part in particular was just plain nonsense! Lol

You misunderstood. He didn’t say mute the C note. You mute the A string which means there’s no B note and likewise on the 2nd string you finger it at the 3rd fret giving a D, so you eliminate both Bs. Can’t believe you’ve never seen this.

Why would this guy do tutorial with a capo on music in a time when no one had a capo? Dufas

Intellectually, why stick to a wheelbarrow when you could go with a Cadillac? A capo broadens a guitar players ability.
