@kurichka No, that's not the reason. There are tons of meetings done in English in Bangladesh, why would you think otherwise? English is used as a second language among the middle and upper classes of the country. And there were over 250 people in the audience :)

this is my personal view, nothing official, :) we talk in bangladesh- but we talked for the globe. we are locally global. to represent our change making ideas to wards the whole world we might have chosen english.

Why is a meeting in Bangladesh done in English? I see there is very little audience, is that the reason?

well the reason why is because if my uncle had spoken it in bangla then americans would understand the point.

I didn't like his talk at all. The things he listed as negative have actually improved a lot in the last 20yrs. Overpopulation - since the 1980s, Bangladesh has seen incredible reduction in birth-rate. In the 1970s, the average woman had 6.8kids. In 2012, the average woman has 2.3kids. Bangladesh has also done really well at meeting it's Millenium Developmental Goals. I think it's important to promote pride in young Bangladeshis 'cus that'll make them want to work harder to improve more.
