He ruled with strong discipline and love. He let us know what the rules were and what the consequences would be if we screwed up. He never let things slide.
@sigma1932Ай бұрын
Pre-boomer = Silent Generation... if he was a WW2 vet, he was probably mid to late "Greatest Generation" unless he went in super-young... Everyone was built different back then... having to endure/raise kids/grow up during the Great Depression and the biggest war in history to that point definitely took its toll... Shift in the wrong direction started with the boomers, peaked around the end of Gen-X, and been on an increasingly steep downhill slide ever since...

I’m 51 yrs old and I find it’s a shame that normal discipline is lost on this generation of parents. Your children are precious and parents are blessed to have them. Part of that blessing is raising respectful, productive human beings. When you allow your children to disrespect you, you allow your children to disrespect the world around them. They are only our children for so long protected by our home in our arms once they become adults and they grow up and go out into the world and they act like assholes because we allowed them 😊to, the world will check them real quick, so the best thing parents can do is not coddle their children, but teach them how to survive in this world as a respectful adult.

I mean come on now, brainwashing kids to believe that abortion saves lives, and that kids have the capacity to make the decision to change their genders. The medical profession isn't even medical anymore.

Gen X here raised by The Greatest Generation grandparents. No, no, no talking back. You did what you were told, no questions asked. House ran smoothly because everyone knew what was required of them and they just did it. We also had tons of fun as a family. Chores were done and then we had time for family outings like picnics, swimming, fishing, or just going for a Sunday drive. Completely different life.

In short, if necessary, I knew she would take us down, but I also knew she would go down protecting us. It made for a very safe and happy children/now adults.
