I finally got around to filming this requested video on the various types or tiers of modern body armour, showing the Police style soft kevlar with stab protection vests that offer limited protection but good manoeuvrability. Light-weight military body armour with small ceramic plates etc like the British ECBA. Then finally the really heavy and bulky full military plate carriers with very good coverage of the entire torso complete with giant plates front and back.
All armour is bullet resistant not bullet proof.

Do a video covering every piece of armour and riot gear and guns and weapons and things like that that you own. There are individual videos but one video with it all would be great thanks. Please like so he sees

3:06 I noticed the plates are offset to the left. The idea that the "heart is on the left" is a myth. The heart is asymmetric, generally biased towards the left ventricle, but that's not the same thing. The plate basically doesn't cover half the heart, as well as leaving the pulmonary arteries, descending aorta, mesentery artery, etc totally unprotected. It also fails to account for "situs inversus" where people have a heart that is mirrored and thus biased to the right, not the left like most people

ECBA wont stop rounds except if you have plates in. The kevlar filler is for shrapnel - similar to older 'flak' vests.

Not sure if a side body armor plate would fit in the sockets of the ECBA plate carrier. But if it does, atleast for the mort part, then you will have a range of options to choose on what kind of plates.

Also ceramic armour is good against rifle rounds. Especially AP types. But if a round shoots you at the same spot 2 times, it might not be able to catch it. As oppose to steel plates that are rifle rated they can take multiple hits in the same spot for regular bullets.

Thx for the video, but a shame you did not state the actual weight of these 3 units, as that would make it easier to relate, as the word "heavy he ain't my brother# ." varies from one to the next.

Have you seen the Caliber Arms spall armors, They are really strong plates and not too much compared to other plates on the market, I saw a guy empty 2 mags of 5.56 on it and it just broke the spall off it.

Does ECBA (without the ceramic plates) correspond to NIJ IIIA level? I want to wear it UNDER the plate carrier.

It’s probably close to a level 2 brand new but most fillers are old, heavy used and way out of date by now. They are cheap though and doubling up the fillers is definitely an option if you can squeeze them into one cover. Also keep in mind they where made for shrapnel.

Something you should probably bear in mind is, they are generally very good thermal insulators...so if you want to wear it anywhere not cold for anything than a short period of time...you might want to think about how to solve the heat issue...

I think it should be more to the center rather then just over to one side to cover most of both lungs and the heart. If you get shot in the lung your lung will collapse and unless you get quick medical attention you will die.
