The entj representation in the media is really unrealistic and stereotypical. I was raised to be kind towards everyone and be mindful of what I say to others. Does that mean I'm not entj? No. My core values and the way I think is still entj. That part about hating affection too is still pretty unrealistic. Me an ld all the entjs of my life enjoy affection but only when coming from people that we value. Th eonly difference is that entjs value less people than say enfp. And that's why we come off as "unaffectionate" or "emotionless" when really our priorities and filters are different.

@nobodynowhere213 жыл бұрын
@@haludan111 The problem with this is that most people are not truly motivated by wanting to accomplish the group's objectives. Often people are motivated by their own logic or desires, and secretly prioritize those above the tribe's needs whenever they feel they can get away with it. Even ETJ's, who can in an unhealthy state even EQUATE effectiveness with self-esteem, do that in their own way by selfishly expecting others to provide external validation to cheer them up when the results we want aren't materializing. Point is, getting people to work together is often both 1) necessary and 2) a fool's errand. In order to not be driven into ETJ madness, I believe you have to be 100% comfortable with both of those realities at the same time and fully resolve any apparent contradiction. Also, everything is always our fault, especially when it isn't, and the tribe is *absolutely sure* of that fact even though they're never absolutely sure about anything else - I've learned that this is the way of Nature: from their point of view, it is more comfortable to blame your ego than to blame their own. Which leads me to my grand maxim: people are awesome and also they suck.

I'm noticing a common vocal tonality with these examples. That + their demeanor... It comes across as, for lack of better words, powerful? Commanding, self-assured, unswayed. Even the women come across as somewhat "masculine" (by traditional behavioral gender roles; I have no problem with women acting whatever way). _But then,_ every now and then I come across an ENTJ that is very soft-spoken. Like that girl you featured in your "Guess Their Type" series -- the one where it was just an audio recording. Do you remember? Her voice really threw me off, and I think it did for a lot of other people because many said she's "obviously a feeler" and guessed something like ISFP. Almost no one got her right. It wasn't until I listened closely to what she was _really_ saying, and not just the way she was saying it, that I realized she was an ENTJ. How do you explain such exceptions? Do you think there's any connection between voice and type or is it just coincidence?

Don't associate action/tone to a type. Behavior =/= Cognition. An aggressive, powerful ISFP can exist, as well as a soft-spoken, calm ENTJ. What matters in typing are their cognitive purposes. A calm ENTJ can talk like they lack presence but their topics center around being efficient or logical towards the external world. An aggressive ISFP may act mad and prideful but will talk to you about their hobbies, opinions, and other subjective interests. It's a matter of what their cognition prioritizes.

I'm Infj, and for some reason I always find myself standing eye - ball to eye - ball in battles of will with this type. It seems to me that the two ENTjs that I have met in the past have come across to me as needing me to be a " mascot ", or a "pet " that they can control. I don't hate the type , in general , but have found myself reacting in open rebellion against that style of interaction. It has often seemed as if they were always attempting to subjugate me,
@seanprater1795 Жыл бұрын
@way2go295 not true. We are too introverted for that kind of behavior, in general. That is a stereotype. It is how we are perceived by those who either have strong, controlling personalities, or those have no backbone to stand up for themselves, when confronting oppression ; Entjs can be bullies at times - if allowed ! I spend way too much time on improving myself to even have the energy to subjugate anyone else. I have never had the inclination to do so, unlike extraverted types who thrive on world domination.

i can say that as an ENTJ, all of that is in your brain, and its what upsets me about INFJs. they read unnecessarily into things and think it has deeper meaning when we‘re just being us and its relaly not that deep and if you told us we made you feel bad we‘d be shocked and feel bad about it and tryna change it unless your claim is totally pointless
@seanprater1795 Жыл бұрын
@@premortem4680 No, unfortunately it is not " in my brain", as you say. Extraverted thinking types are generally unaware of how they come across to people because they lack Fe in the 4 top stacks. Fe is a function that confers upon it's recipient's a natural skill in social interactions,and being very aware of the appropriate ways in which to deal with people. Extraverted,and Introverted Judgers, are generally blind to how others perceive them. Fi users only aware of how they are feeling at any given time, and because Fi is in the inferior position in ENTJs, feelings of any sort are non - existent -- at least consciously ! As a result ENTJs can be controlling in ways that are seen by others as oppressive . To me, the two that I have interacted with seem like souless Ai robots, more concerned with being obeyed, and followed. But that is when they are in that immature stage. That is honestly how ENTJS seem to me. And oftentimes, " just being us" is the problem. Being able to adapt our interaction styles to benefit other people is the mature approach to healthy relationships. When healthy, ENTJs tap into their Ni , then they can intuitively navigate social situations, and deal with people humanely, and not as heartless, slave - owners.....

By stupid I mean inconsiderate , thoughtless, lazy , people. 2. Sorry, I dont spread my loving all around . I pick one person to relationship with and it's all in or nothing and that's the only person I care to touch or be touched by. 3. I get shit done. If anyone cares to get their head out their ass and watch , they'd learn how easy. That is for themselves. (Trying to lead by example is like 80% of my life. Keyword trying because most people are content with being miserable ) common sense stuff people. I'm not an asshole for wanting to see people better their own lives and believing feelings are irrelevant . Feelings are what holds people back from their potential and handling logical problems. Oh you have a shit car you wont stop complaining about , I've heard about how you need to get another , really all but actually cry real tears. Wouldn't that time be better used thinking about the order in which to handle that problem. Like, save your money, go get one. Problem solved. But noooo. Itll be months later . And deep down yes I want you to get the car as fast as possible because then we can move on to other things that need addressing. Obviously this is just an example. Point is. I'm not an asshole. Maybe impatient. Considerate to logical things. Good with constructive criticism as long as its logical. Intentions are everything to me in a world I've learned will never understand me. That's how I accept it because I know people will always work harder and not smarter because feelings guide them in situations where they should not. Moral of the story. Get shit done. Lol. Carl Sagan is not ENTJ, he is clearly INTP. Go watch 'Carl Sagan on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson (full interview, March 2nd 1978)' found here on YT and notice he only once uses extroverted thinking and he is being pessimistic when he does so. Same when using an introverted feeling moral argument, he's being a "downer" as Carson says while laughing (Fi Demon). These are not his primary functions. He constantly is throwing introverted thinking truth bombs and logical arguments sprinkled with lots of extroverted intuition about what might be, what people might be thinking etc. He keeps the topic about the theoretical more often than the here and now. Notice at the beginning he doesn't acknowledge the audience and leans away from Jonny Carson. Never initiating the conversation, he is responding and occasionally over informative, all traits of an INTP. Finally, when asked about Star Wars movies, he speaks fondly about the eleven year-old in him loved them which is consistent with introverted sensing child function (having a child like exuberance). Can he really be anything but an INTP?
