For original backers see comment on the campaign : Anton-ThisWay 5/9/2024 7:26 AM. These updates basically leave only an empty box option left out for returning backers who want to at least store all the 2.0 content in one box. However, that choice might actually push the cost of conversion so close to just buying the all-in package that maybe original backers would just buy all over again (Especially if they don't have an art book and coasters...).

I almost backed the first campaign but backed out at the last minute. I've always kinda regretted it after hearing how fun it is. I think I'm going to back it this time since it seems to have a lot of QoL changes.

I C E or Floe? Two beautifully produced, ultra-expensive games with a winter theme that excite me. Basically, the one with the best reviews will win my wallet.

OOF that's a really tough question! Both are fantastic choices but have wildly different gameplay. I'd say I C E if you want something unique, simpler, mechanics are more seamless. If you want a bigger adventure with more decisions, and lots of things to do, go with FLOE!

@@TimChuon Surprisingly, one of the biggest factors for me in choosing a game is the duration. If one is significantly shorter than the other that will usually decide it. All things considered, FLOE is more likely to disappoint me, I think, if it doesn't end up being what I want it to be. Your I C E video makes it pretty clear what it is. Thanks!

Snow tiles not being random is actually a major downgrade in my opinion. Sure, it adds more strategy, but it also takes away the sense of wonder when uncovering tiles and seeing what you get. So far, this video has not convinced me that the convertion kit is worth it.

@@Arkardu The original is a lot of fun still, but i do feel like the new abilities for some characters definitely help with balance (the alchemists retrieving 2 tiles instead of 3 for instance) and some had big changes that, for me, was more fun (nourishers having explorer slots to call when they want to!)

I find the guild abilities from the first version fairly unbalanced. CryoArchitects can barely make any use of there ability, so do the navigators (though they sound really strong on paper). I hope the new version does a better job in making them more interesting and useful! Is there an overview over the updated powers somewhere? In the video it was too small to read it properly.

Doesn't the person who placed the layers of the board at the beginning have an unfair advantage since he can see where all the good tiles are buried? I have a photographic memory so this seems especially detrimental XD

You know that’s a fun question! I wouldn’t say there are “good tiles” to worry about since they all are really unique, and the layers change; the first layer of snow are mostly different with abilities that synergize with different things you’re trying to achieve. The second layer and onwards all have symbols and colors that would match the conditions you’re trying to fulfill AND powers you’re using, so even if you memorize it, the cards you’re dealt and the people you’re playing with have a giant influence on it! Plus, we usually set it up together for multiplayer!
