What a treasure trove! I met George for the first time at GNRS in 2915 when I had 40 COOP in the 75th 40 Ford Anniversary display. This video brought more of the real Barris personality into my memory bank. Thanks again Piero.

I have never met George or have been to kustom city. Only through your lens and some of his books and dvd’s. As George Gallagher says he has his T on backwards is that some more sharp advertising. The bigger logo in full view. It seems he was very shrewd and never mist a trick. Great stuff piero. Keep them coming. Cheers Tim.

This is awesome! Fantastic capturing of the Barris legacy! The man will always be one of the legends of custom car builds and culture! He was also one of the first to understand "self promotion." Which is most likely why he will mention Peterson Publication, but neither Rickman nor Medley (they were everywhere, going from shop-to-shop documenting everything from fabrication and engine swaps, Bonneville, Indy, and go carts and boats)! I could be wrong, but I think Rickman got the shots from when Barris' shop burned (my guess everyone was taking pictures). Love the kamikazee approach to shooting cars...just bum rush a location and shoot like skate videos from my time (sorry homeowner/officer). Barris, incredible man, incredible story! Piero, you nailed it! Thank you for opening your archives! This is a testament to YOUR place in the culture and history of hot rodding! Go Mad Fabricators, keep moving forward! (Sorry to be so wordsy)

We met shortly before you shot this, it’s incredible, during this time i was lucky enough to have had George Barris at our place for quite a few parties! Watching this was incredible, i knew he was a photographer but i loved the way he incorporated his love of Architecture in the mix, and what about his banter with Larry Watson! Terrific job and thank you once again for preserving our history and culture here in Socal!!

43:30 i love the era of the ladies how they dressed, still today there's no style comparable. With them posing in front of a special car, doesn't get any better. This could have been a full blown docu series with the amount of years to be covered

Very cool 🤙 I have a that George was supposed to publish pictures of in 1957 but instead he stole designs from the car and got famous for them. I have a picture of tge car on my channel in the community section. George stole many designs throughout his career.

It seems most of his custom cars didnt survive.I've never seen any ever featured in magazines,so they must have gotten all totaled.
