I had the trailer run away like that one time when I was loading an excavator, I was on a hill and started heading right for the edge and a house that was down the hill. My quick thinking and jabbing the bucket into the ground as I was gaining speed saved me from going over the hill and onto the roof of a house. Those supports will save lives and equipment for sure!👍

That wood stick / log in your water tank is also a great way to keep it open from freezing solid. I've been using them for years over the tank heaters. The sun will heat the exposed wood and keep at lease a small portion of the surface open. It will eventually freeze but it's open for much longer than not having it in there. My livestock will bump it and or use that open hole to allow them to drink.

I hadn’t thought of that but it makes sense. Thanks.

Nice job guys! I got a little nervous when I saw that you were putting in a pond after watching Adam’s pond challenges. Way to start off with something manageable to start 😂
@hardworkingmanoutdoorsАй бұрын
Baby steps lol. I do plan on doing some work on our pond and possibly putting one in at one of my plots that’s bigger.

That's a great idea to put the water in near your stands. Looking forward to more backhoe work. Looks like excellent deer habitat, especially with the cornfield nearby. But I do believe that I saw at least one bunny 🐰 in those woods!!

Thanks! It’s definitely turning out to be a nice piece. The water holes work great!

Great to see you and your boys working in the woods and digging your pond. That tractor really has enough power to do everything you want and the trailer is so conducive in loading and unloading. Nice peace of property and yes it's starting to get a bit cooler out.

I got a kick out of watching the clusiness of you running the backhoe. Reminded me of my first days of learning, I was a total clutz and I thought I never get it but then one day, I got the muscle memory and I've been smooth as butter since.

I’m smooth enough with my backhoes that I run my engines at higher speeds. I Didn’t run them fast to begin with it took time, you did a rather impressive job with that small bucket. My small backhoe is a BH77 on a Kubota B2650 my big hoe is a John Deere that has a30 in bucket.

When you put digging a pond in the title I was thinking 1/4 or 1/2 acre pond. Not a bathtub. Haha

lol, I’ll do a bigger pond someday. For now it’s just a few water holes.

Ok, ok, ok... just TRY a Ventrac 4520. Just rent one and make a video about it. Rent some of the attachments you think you'd like. I'd really love to see if it benefits you. I have nothing to do with their company or a seller. I want land so I can buy one. But, it'd be great for you all.

Sorry about the corn hole comment Heath. Family for Americans is #1 in my book. I lost the McConnel 3 point backhoe in the estate fiasco. kept the Tractor, insisted on it! Stand up to my older brother! He IS a good man, the world loves him (total schmoozer), but he's totally confused, my opine.. we are both Eagle Scouts. He was probably better at that too, than me. It's a little digger, but the color matches the tractor! 100 different uses for it! As long as you can get the tractor set up where you need to dig. I'm not a hunter. Anyway, paragraph here.
@hardworkingmanoutdoorsАй бұрын
No worries, everyone doesn’t like the same things. The backhoe should come in handy. Sucks you lost the backhoe.

Heath how are you liking those hisea leather boots. I have the same style and find them to be comfortable, liteweight and have good traction. Have been wearing them everyday for two months now.
@hardworkingmanoutdoorsАй бұрын
I like them, I did eventually change the insoles out as they seems to wear down a bit. Overall for the money they’re tough to beat.
@BGWenterprisesАй бұрын
Generally backhoes have controls that are backwards from a excavator. Meaning the 2 boom controls are swapped side to side. . Should you be on a excavator thats made in the last 20 years. And is OEM to north America. there is usually a switch valve to swap a excavator over to backhoe controls. . Gray market excavators are the most common to not have the switch valve. IE not original to north America.

Hope it doesn't float up being you don't have any water in it. In Texas swimming pools will. Why do you bury it. They drink out of my water troughs that my cows use here on my property
@hardworkingmanoutdoorsАй бұрын
Jimmy, I got some water in it before any rain came. Plus where it’s at I don’t think it would hold much water with the sandy soil. Here in Michigan the hunting pressure is extremely high so deer tend to be a bit more skiddish than deer in other states. The young deer tolerate more but once a buck gets a few hunting season behind him they wise up real quick.
