I loved all of it but wish they could leave the leaves on the ground around the trees until spring. Leaf litter is important winter cover for so many pollinators. We started leaving the leaves in the beds on our property and the difference in the amount of pollinators in the last two seasons has been noticable.

Laura, I have to tell you, I have been watching you for some time now. You have given me so much great information. We moved from Louisiana to Texas 9 years ago. Since that time we have struggled to get things to grow due to the high heat in the summers. This past one was horrible. But, I think I have found a few things that will tolerate this heat. One of your suggestions was the Supertunia Vista Bubblegum. That plant has been amazing the past 3 years. I have planted the Priscilla with it, and found that the Priscilla needs to be in its own pot. The Bubblegum takes over. And pruning them. OMG! I did that, and yes, it’s hard to chop off all the blooms , but wow!!! My plants just filled up again in no time. I just can’t imagine how tired you must be at the end of each day!!! Thank you for all of these great videos! Oh, also, love the pond area and all of your stone walkways you guys are putting in.

New to your site, a 60 year dahlia grower with bulbs from my grandparents farm from the 1890s. What do you do with all those bulbs. Do you market them. I spent 30 years in Indiana digging up tubers every year, then did myself a favor and moved to Northern California where my dahlias can winter over in the grounds. I had no idea I could do that. Every time I tend my flowers I wish my dad was still alive, because I would convince him to move with me. Some of my bulbs have passed from his mom to him and on to me. It makes it special for me. I cannot conceive of the work you put in and the amount of dahlias you have. Made me want to take a nap. Kudos to you for the energy expended and the love involved.

For Aaron. My father and I deep fry 10+ turkeys every year. If your fryer pot came with a lid, keep it on while cooking. We only take it off to check the internal temp or remove the bird. I think your exposing the oil to too much direct cold air with it off. That or you may need to create a wind block if theres and issue with the flame. I hope that helps.
