That stare down is so powerful. I think the way I read it and the music video as a whole is like this brief moment where you can almost touch the sublime through this drunk woman and the choir. But when Mitski glares at the woman and the woman returns it by sticking her tongue at Mitski, any greater potential connection is cut, and we're brought back to this dingy street. And even then, the paper swirling around her while she curtsies for the camera is a striking and beautiful image. It perfectly embodies the theme of failing to get out of the rut you're stuck in, and the mix of mundane and divine that gives our lives and pain meaning. Bug like an angel!

An album i’d think you’d totally love is Vespertine by björk.One of the most beautiful and heavenly albums i’ve ever heard.Mitski has also talked about björk in her apple music interview!I Think there’s some similarity’s in Mitski and Björk.
