Just saw Robert Plant in Moorhead. The show was simply amazing. His band is definitely sensational as their name suggests and Mr. Plant still rules the stage. Thanks for the memories.

I would love to hear a Digging Deep on Stairway to Heaven. Robert has such a mysterious relationship to this song. It is so beloved, and yet he does not choose to perform it or even discuss it much. I think that it would be such a revelation to hear what exactly it is about Stairway that he does not enjoy. He has said that he was so young when he wrote it that he doesn’t feel that it represents him justly as a lyricist, yet millions of people believe that the song is perfect. Wouldn’t it be great if Robert were to discuss his thoughts and feelings on it once and for all?

The Strange Sensation, now evolved into The Sensational Space Shifters. are, together with Robert Plant, a feast for the senses. A mix of Rock, Blues, Jazz and "exotic" African sounds or Traditional Deep American or Wales folklore, blending musical styles from England, the U.S., and the Middle East, they're simply magical. I've seen them at least six times, from Liverpool in 2017 to Bath Festivals and Cardiff in Wales in 2018, their incredible Scandinavian Tour from Bergen to Reykjavik's "Secret Solstice" in Iceland and even last weekend in The Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville US and you know? They're getting better and better! Such different individuals with so different conceptions about music, sounding together as one powerful unique Sensational band. From the romantic Liam Tyson to exotic Justin Adams, to the freshness of Billy Furrer's bass or deep keyboarder John Baggot, to the powerful drums of Dave Smith and the incredible multi-instrumentalist Seth Lakeman (now touring UK and replaced by the sweet fiddle of Lillie Mae), and of course, the voice and the soul of Robert Plant, the legendary singer. Great musicians that have the ability to transport us listeners to new worlds, they take their audience on a journey across the continents by infusing several genres of music, including American roots music, Celtic folk, reverberating trip-hop, and hypnotic Middle Eastern and African grooves without missing some Led Zeppelin songs, with a new twist. The word to describe the experience is only one: Magnificent!

Story of my life, moving right along without a plan. Some stuff I dont want to say. For instance, I'm not really comfortable talking about an Native American Vision, maybe call it the Shape Shifters, maybe not. I was lucky to visit Estoniia once, I was on a ship. An African guy on there would make homemade African gin. It was very good, but it gave me miserable hangovers the next day. I dont know how I survived. There is an equation connected to the Vision, now that you mention it. I don't talk about the specifics very often because it's a very unorthodox subject and I can't expect people to believe me. It's kinda difficult to follow an Indian Vision in the digital age of technology. Lots of distractions.

Those who post negative vibes have missed the point of Tin Pan Valley. Robert doesn't owe us anything, doesn't need to rehash his past or become a self-parody. He could hang up his mic and retire to a shed in the hills but he has a gift and curiosity that he still needs to fulfill and shares with those who want to listen. If you don't like it, fine, but I for one owe him and his crew, present and past, a huge thank you for being a part of the journey. Music and song is 'a light in dark places'. X
