I seen a guy doing the same thing back in the 1970s the difference was his shirt go caught on the auger and he did not get the tractor stopped in time. So in 2006 my friend had his 4020 JD trying to dig a hole in very dry conditions I stopped him and made an adapter that fit on his digger and I used a jib pole mounted on my front end loader to drive it safely into the dirt.

From my husband: screw a long 2x4 to each side near the top so the 2x4s connect tube to tube to tube, then drive some stakes in between the tubes and screw to the 2x4s. That will lock them all together.

Great tractor work Angela! Sam, well you made me so "Nervous" having your clothing and self so close to the PTO shaft. That is risky in my opinion and was glad to see you using the bar towards the end of auguring the needed holes. I have and use the same equipment on my John Deere 2023R. I used it this past weekend to replace mail box post that had been snapped off. Love your channel and the content. Congratulations on the new barn going up, so looking forward to following along.

There are place you can cut corners. I'm not sure if I would cut corners on the foundation of a building especially one make of concrete. It's not made of wood so you can't cut off a smidgen here and 3 inches there. $400 to me is a lot of money. But I think I would have done it with full tubes in each hole there laser them and block them on 3 sides and cut off the excess. I hope you won't regret this choice or have to dig up any tunes and repour new ones. Good luck, Sam & Angela.

might help if you put some sort of plastic bag /tube made from plastic sheet down the dirt inside the hole and fill inside that with concrete , to prevent the moisture in the concrete from being sucked in the surrounding dirt before it has time to fully settle , wetting the holes before pouring in the concrete might help too maibe ask someone that works with concrete often , i do know that they lay a moisture barrier down when they pour a slab might allso need to put in a little rebar or at least sumting metal (old fenceposts?) just so you pieces dont shift if the concrete pillar cracks through halfway in the hole metal does need to be totally embedded inside the concrete or it will rust out

👏👏👏👏👏 You and your family are amazing!!! Truely!! I so enjoy watching these videos!! They are entertaining, informative and watching your boys learning to basically learning how to work is thrilling! Our youngest, in her 40’s, is a hard worker. Hasn’t gone to college, has managed to always find work makes her amazing!! If I do say so myself. Grin!! The really sad part, she works in a pizza parlor, currently. The three oldest workers do the majority of the work. But the current boss lays it out. Not working at the level required will be asked to leave and find a job will be asked to find a job at their level. It’s tough, because those who can be successful there are few and far between, but are make it work. So love your vids, always jump on them whenever I see them! Always worthwhile!! And love love love your soaps!! Carry on! HUGS!!

After doing something, atrocious no doubt, to my twin brothers, I fled the house in the dark and one of my legs disappeared down one of the holes as I'd quite forgotten they were there 😅. I got my come uppance I suspect.

@@sam-and-angela I have 2 DeWalts, but that's because they were available and affordable when I bought them. Bosch has a good product, but most any name brand anymore is going to fine for you. Just make sure you get the collapsing "pole" measuring stick, and a good receiver. My Dewalt receiver is spot on, Haven't had great success with the Bosch receiver though. Fantastic when working alone too, makes it all so much quicker and easier.
