These digimon games were made with the players of the first Digimon Story (world DS) in mind. Most of those players are young adults nowadays. I think that explains the waifus.

I've got the complete edition for the Switch, and it truly is one of the best games I've ever played. As for my Favorite Digimon, I can narrow it to my top 4. Tentomon, Gabumon, Dianamon, and RustTyrannomon

Playing on these digital stages gets old very quick, would prefer different maps and outside areas instead of the indoor digital realm used.

For me as a hardcore Digimon fan personally I've always loved the Digimon World series more but both Cyber Sleuth titles are the best Digimon Story games. There have been things like Dusk and Dawn on the DS before (even though they were renamed to Digimon World in the west they are still Digimon Story games) but I think the Story and Characters there were far from Cyber Sleuth level. The digivolving and dedigivolving and Digifarm System there was for the most part the same already but required much more grinding. Cyber Sleuth feel like much more beginner friendly and easy to get into games both compared to the Digimon World series and the DS Digimon Story games. One quality of life thing you missed was actually there being the quest log. In the Digivice menu and then the User menu at the BBS section you can view exactly where you have to go next. Though that only works if you're actually working on a BBS mission, meaning if you're on a story mission for which you didn't have to accept a BBS mission then you really have to search where you have to go on your own. Not that I really minded much because I like to explore and find my way alone anyway. Anyway I'm glad even people who aren't that familiar with Digimon enjoy these games because that means they'll likely continue to sell and that means Bandai will continue to bring these games over to the west. In the 10 year gap where we didn't get any Digimon games here (at least in europe. america at least still got some DS Digimon games like Dusk and Dawn or the Data Squad PS2 game which didn't even make it to europe) we missed out on some pretty awesome Digimon games, namely Digimon World Re: Digitize (PSP) and Re: Digitize Decode (3DS). The latter counts as the best Digimon World game among the fanbase which hurts myself even more that it didn't officially come to the west because I like this series the most among the Digimon games. Next Order was ok but Decode is supposed to be a lot better and I already enjoyed the PSP Re: Digitize more than Next Order. Luckily there is a fan translating group which has already fully translated the PSP Re: Digitize and is currently working on Decode and the progress seems to be going very well according to their updates and first video showcasing a little bit of the translation. For anyone interested their name is OPdecoded.

I disagree with cyber sleuth being the best story games. While the game's characters and story are definitely beyond dusk dawn and ds, I would say Lost evolution is much better. Characters wise, no, cyber sleuth is so far the best, but story wise, lost evolution does a lot more with the digimon lore which makes its story more interesting and fun to play through, and it's selection of digimon is also wider (slightly with the ancients and the sovereigns and such. Though no chaosmon valdu arm, but eh). Also, digivolution felt more i don't know, "correct" in lost evolution. There are too many overlaps in cyber sleuth, like the gabu line also having the option for the doru line. Still a great game, but not the best in my opinion.

Well I can't judge Lost Evo since it's not playable in english yet and I don't understand japanese. I'll definitely play it once the fan patch is out though

The reason for the slightly outdated graphics is because it used many resources from cyber sleuth was developed for both the PS4 and the PSVITA so that’s why the lower graphics.

nay, it was mainly meant for PS Vita since the previous game only had Vita in Japan. But then it was never outdated at all, I wonder why ppl complained about it. I mean, there are so many B-ranked JRPG on PS4 having same or even worse graphics than Cyber Sleuth, especially the 3D modelling.

This is the next game on my list since I just beat Xenoblade 2 recently. I am a huge Digimon fan so I downloaded this for my Vita. I am happy to know it’s good. I remember Digimon Dawn/Dusk were some of my favorite games back in the day

The whole game turned out to be great. I was cautious buying this on the switch, but I’m glad I did. Having 2 games in 1 is awesome too. The Hackers Memory is a great story line so far. It was nice trying to digivolve them into the ones I remembered most, first, then raising others to become the newer generations. When you said you can’t always check your objectives, this isn’t entirely true, this can be done in the digifarm by talking to the woman that works there, she will tell you what your current objective is. The graphics of the game are fantastic compared to a lot of games that either try too hard and miss, or don’t try hard enough and are disappointing.

I just picked up this game and after just a few hours im already inlove! it reminds me of persona 5 alot! except.. in persona 5, i fell inlove with the characters, but couldnt care enough for its monsters, while in Hacker's Memory, i fell inlove with the monsters, but cant care for the cast of characters... maybe i will care about them as i go along? also, ive never played a shin megami tensei game in my life, and i plan on picking up SMT5 when it comes out.. do you think that, since i loved persona 5 and Hacker's Memory, that SMT5 would also be a game i'd enjoy?

Wow, your view on the digimon collection is totally different than mine. Being a long time digimon fan, it was just me grinding for alphamon, omnimon zwartz, and imperialdramon paladin mode. Knowing what everything digivolves to, nothing is really surprising. Of course, that doesn't make me hate it, I love just going through all the lines, getting to see my favorite digimon (at least the ones that are actually in the game...we are never getting X-digimon again) is really fun. As you said, definitely a suprefun game for any digimon fan, especially since it builds some lore here and there which is great. Not my favorite digimon story game (lost evolution was just way too good), but still a great game.

well, people playing HM with cyber sleuth save data transfer will mostly know what one digimon evolves into, except those 70+ new one. But yeah I guess that the evolving process is just instant in CS, it's never as hardworking as the DS series. Cyber Sleuth series is just a digimon story subseries that focuses much more in the narrative aspect, making it like 75% visual novel and 25% RPG gameplay

In this digimon game they made a mistake on angewomen on her special attack. Instead of her left hand wings grow to make a bow it's her right hand is were her scarf is rolled around on. it funny if u don't be live it get angewomen and see for your self

People who complain about graphics forget that this is a PS Vita game. It was only ported to PS4 when it was brought to the west, which happened because of a fan petition. Originally they had no intention to release the Cyber Sleuth games outside of Japan.

The game has a good story, but has limited stuff differing it from the original . Plus there's 2 missions I don't like , one had SJW themes in it, and another had to deal with a cult. You can't tell the girl to join a different and more trustworthy religion , your options are either tell her to believe in only herself or believe nothing . Which I took as make her an atheist or a nihilist .

I never played the first one but apparently this one has a large chunk of the same content but it's enhanced with new story stuff as well, so it's probably better to just jump straight into Hacker's Memory :)

I would get both personally, because the first game sets up many the things that this game talks about. If you're one for story then either watching or playing the first would go a long way in understanding why the characters do what they do. Essentially, this game has the chapters and side of events that are missing in the first game.
