a stack that is a 4 in 1 ESC, f4 flight controller running betaflight OSD, a 40 channel vtx, that you can change with smart audio using your radio, an FPV camera, TAKES 6S AND RECORDS in 1080p. That is insane - bit.ly/eachinex4 As much as I love this one I think that eachine can be a bit hit and miss and their quality control can be a bit lacking at times, I have seen some other videos where the stacks screen went yellow like a loose ribbon cable or something?

i wonder if you can use an external vtx,? i can't imagine how they cope with the heat from a vtx underneath a runcam split type of set up?... maybe the camera is doing some of the work processing before it gets to the board? come to think of it... what the hell is inside the camera case? look forward to some follow up tests from the community.

Thanks for the shout out and the link Stu. Man I with mine worked as well as yours. I expected watching this you wouldn’t have the near totally loss of video that I did. But otherwise the quality would be the same. But even without the totally video loss your HD footage is perfect. I would be VERY happy with that. I agree on the latency, it was very minimal and barely noticeable. My main worry is that they had to make the stack so big so it doesn’t overheat. I also had to reduce the stack size a lot. I used a Martian II which is much more enclosed so there was a lot less airflow. After mine cooled down it was fine but I haven’t flown it again yet. I have mods in progress.
@UAVfutures7 жыл бұрын
my pleasure mate, did eachine tell you that about the heating? try resetting the ribbon cable. love your stuff BTW

No I haven't gotten on Eachines radar yet. I had to buy mine. :-) One thing I asked in another spot but know you have a million message to go through. Did you just use the 5S? I know you mentioned trying multiple voltages but just saw that one used. I'm wondering in that actually helps and plan to try it.
@SimRacer1017 жыл бұрын
FYI, I just posted an update on this. I threw away the FC and ESC board and just used the DVR/Camera and the footage looked just as clean as yours. I've seen a few videos that looks as good as yours, and a few that looks almost as bad as mine so I am guessing there are some PDB issues in the stack. But if you just use the camera and DVR is seems to be pretty good. Maybe 3/4 Runcam Split quality for about half the price.

6s... time to go solder some of my 3s packs together (have a few too many after loosing a cell on 4s packs). That's pretty impressive, 1080p recording, and only $100. The only deal breaker for me is that it has some latency (and if they fix the QC). If you have lag, you can't really push your limits racing. I need all the time to react possible, it would even be great if it could see a little into the future so I know I'm going to hit a tree limb before it happens ;)

Loving your content as allways ! Brilliant video but this is not for me ! I’m doing my first build atm and I have never even flown a racer yet ! The reason being is I love the technical side of it , I love to learn as much as possible how things work and that’s what I think 50% of this hobby is about ,I’m afraid with stacks like this coming out we will lose some of the brilliant knowledge that people like you and Joshua Bardwell and the like have in say 20 years time ,am I wrong ?? I oftten wonder how people like you learn as much as you do about these things because it’s not as if Joshua Bardwell was sat watching KZbin 15 years ago lol! This is why I love your channel I have learnt so much I’ve almost finished my build and can’t wait to learn to fly it ! It was because of this channel I decided to build instead of buying an eacine wizard and just plugged n played , I’ve learnt so much more doing it this way .

You can fly in the snow (I would post a video I saw recently where a guy was bunny hoppiong and skimming through the snow (more like the props were throwing snow out of the way), but he did some incredibly stupid stuff like flying above the road and almost wrecked hitting an iced up power line (so you could actually knock out someones electricity). What he did was the clear electrical sealant applied with a brush.
@chemistt7 жыл бұрын
I am on my way to that :) Ive have everything stripped up and its ready to get sealed :) there is one additional problem tho. Nobody ever measured the transmitting distance of Taranis in heavy rain, snow or a fog :) another problem is that if youre not in a car (which is a faraday cage), there is a lot of snow/rain falling on you so your taranis or goggles get wet also :) As you said, I know its possible even without sealing (some comes presealed), I am not pushing it, because I realised that its not safe. Even if you seal your quad, there is a possibility of FC getting corrupted. I am flying with 500g 4S 2600kv 5051c quad....if it goes berserk...well....its a 100mph projectile
@jakegarrett81097 жыл бұрын
Are you flying around people or in a neighborhood? If so, I wouldn't take that risk in bad conditions, like you said, it could be bad if something happened (which really annoyed me about the video I was talking about. The guy was a moron following cars and flying right at them (again, in an ice storm). He was also flying erratic and uncontrollably in his neighbors yards at head level. If someone walked into their own back yard at the wrong moment... Lucky for him, I'm not his neighbor, otherwise I'd make sure my competitive trap and skeet shooting skills hadn't worn off on that quad. Very reckless flying). Definitely safety first. If you're flying in bad weather (high gusts, hurricanes, snow storms, or heavy fog), its probably a good idea to find somewhere extra safe. I lived out in the middle of nowhere, so I didn't have to worry about hitting anything but my own property. Currently though, I'm at college living on campus, so I have to drive or bike somewhere out of the way, but the most I have to go is just a few miles, wouldn't like to do that in a blizzard, but I might get a Tiny Whoop for those days). So its not that bad. Good luck! Just remember, more layers of plasti-dip or whatever coating you use, the better (unless it gets super hot like a VTX, but that's probably not a problem in the winter, probably fine anyways). Have fun flying, its a blast!
@chemistt7 жыл бұрын
Yes, I wouldn't do that. I know people are reckless sometimes but maybe he had an agreement with his neighbors that he could do that and they would expect that. I am flying out on fields outside of a small city but my fear got greater when I realised how fast my quad is, it covers the whole field in matters of seconds (literally nothing to do if it went berserk but pray). There is a frequent road like half km away from my spot and also a cyclist route crossing field nearby. My friend got hit by racing drone whitch vtx got bad on landing, pilot instead of disarming tried to land on a 6th sense. He hit my friend to head while he was sitting flying. He got stitches and a mild concussion. On landing :D So thats why I am extra curious also. Thats why have mixed feeling about drone registration. With all the RTFs we are getting more people into hobby. Its good and bad as they wont go throught the long process of learning as I did getting it piece by piece. That may result in bad acting based on lack of experience. If the registation process consisted of some meaningful info and sharing of experience (like drivers licence) it would be great. As far as I know, its just rubbish in my country. Rubbish, expensive and targeted on people making money on shooting commercial videos. Have fun too man. And spread your word. Its worth it, to make new pilots think :)

The HD footage does not look like 60FPS. It looks rather like something like 25Hz. It might be the recoding done for this post, but we do not see this effect on your GoPro-based HD movies. So I'm wondering what is going on here. Would be great if you could check back and let us know.
@MookMan7 жыл бұрын
I think it's just recording at a lower bit-rate than GoPro, processor won't be as capable.
@Stefan_737 жыл бұрын
Guess you could be right on the processor. I do not see a Bitrate issue. This would lead to low details in fast moving scenes. It though looks like the flow of images is stuttering in fast moving scenes. This can be Bitrate or the processor might limit the amount of frames, if changes become too strong.

hmmm, I think that the "HAYCH DEE" footage wasn't very good at all. Rather have had them skip on that part and either cut the price further or spend the money elsewhere (maybe QC? maybe better quality soldering and tighter assembly? IDK). Cheers for the review.
