As always Phil. Good vid. Denon kit is great hardware as i have had my S 5000 for 2 months, but gear doesn't make a DJ.and listening to Luke is a good inspiration. Thanks guys.

Great video , I think it's worth pointing out lot of new djs today start out thinking they need club setup or 4 channel High end mixer !!! Space is the most important thing a DJ should have , forget features effects !! You need space to perfect your craft or DJ learning skills 2 channel basic mixer is the best for that to practise the basics of the DJ or 2 channel controller ( but space is feature on its own ) you don't see

Yeah there's a lot of choice out there which can definitely confuse new DJs

Can these creative techniques be replicated on a beginner controller like the ddj 400.
@digitaldjtips5 жыл бұрын
Why not? You have pretty much everything you need (hot cues, loops, effects etc)

sorry, but I had same experience as @Nebitno Nebitno.. bought full set 1*SC5000M+X1800 and one player didn't play music, about mixer I've to say faders seem toys.. i'm not a fan of nothing, i'm a vinyl freak and i love technology, i'm not on Pioneer or hater of inMusic then I've Rane full set (12+72+12) and is pure fun to play with.. but.. if Denon start a campaign about 2*SC5000M+X1800 free something wrong is there..it's out of any human thought that a brand could drop his flagship mixer for free.. and..last-but-not-least.. now, in DJ world, we ever talk too much about gears and nothing about music..tons of tricky mixing and very few amusing sets built over Music..

Pioneer have a stranglehold on the clubs and Denon need to do something to try and change that, dropping prices is one way - they're great bits of kit sorry to hear you had a bad experience with them! Many people don't :)

@@digitaldjtips clubs are firms, and firms invest if they need (otherwise they don't)..most clubs in the world own Pioneer sets and they don't need to change their sets, even if Denon drop them for free, because most DJ's playing in those clubs are aware about Pioneer set..maybe could be sad, but this is it.. for sure..some new clubs could invest on Denon, but they are tiny tiny figures..

For sure, plus CDJs last for ages!

@@digitaldjtips I just said 'why clubs don't invest in other gears than Pioneer'..I didn't said this last for ages..

@@digitaldjtips Even Pioneer DJ have had ''problems'' with the the sales of the NXS2 setup compared to the older Nexus, but only because Pioneer DJ's pro gear lasts longer than a models life cycle. There's still a lot of first gen CDJ-2000 and 900's out there still doing the job, and as long as the DJ's playing there don't whine too much about the older gear they won't upgrade until the gear is completely worn out, or if they have to pay expensive rent every time they have guest-DJ's with a higher spec'ed raider. ...and then the NXS2 is on an even higher level of build quality... BUT Pioneer DJ never mock with their prices, for several reasons. The most important being that existing customers need to get a fair used price for their existing gear to afford to buy next gen gear within a reasonable time after release. That's one big reason that makes DJ's continue to buy Pioneer gear. Ones you're in that eko system, it's not that expensive to upgrade, unless you keep your existing gear of course. In my experience you get 50-60% back after 3 years of use, and still 30-35% back even after 5-6 years of pro use, as long as the gear still are still fully functional, which it is unless you've had some misfortune with it, like dancing VIP's in the booth with drinks in their hands... Pioneer gear is not cheap, but extremely good value. All of the above said with the long time view of a pro DJ who rely on the gear every day to make a living.
