In the WNBA rule book, it states that the officials are responsible for checking players for jewellery items of sharp and dangerous objects and long finger nails, due to safety issues and bodily harm, Refs have authority to ask players to trim nails back to finger tips for safety, ANY foul due to nails and eyes is to immediately be called a foul, and if 2 of these fouls are called on the same player, then consequences could lead to suspension.

I've posted on this possibility before. Realizing that one of CC's MAJOR assets are her 3-pointers, but later on, I realized her next MAJOR asset is her passing ability. What do you need to do either of these skills besides whole body strength, it's the eyes. CC has to have tremendous 'peripheral' eyesight. One MUST have this gift to shoot the lights out from beyond the the 3-point line. I started getting paranoid about someone intentionally poking CC's eyes because If she loses her peripheral eyesight, she's FINISHED until they heal. If they don't heal, she's permanently FINISHED...

I called this intentional when it happened and that official should be suspended from any further playoff action for not calling it properly and Carrington should have been suspended from further play! After Carrington failed to block the shot and the ball was gone, she turned the fingers of her blocking hand downward into a claw striking down into Clark's right shooting eye. That is a fact. That was not a natural basketball shot blocking move! Clark is right eye, right handed and Carrington knows that. This was an intentional assault and the WNBA needs to take action against Carrington for this intentional assault! Hard fouls are one thing and players, including Clark understand they will happen and accept it. This was not a hard foul, this was an intentional attempt on the part of Carrington to maim Clark's right shooting eye and that is something players do not accept and should not have to accept! Shame on the WNBA for failing to protect players from thugs like Carrington. Shame on the WNBA for failing, 21 hours after Carrington's assault on Clark, for doing nothing about it!
