I've been a professional performer ever since I was 11-years-old, and I worked in companies with some of the best Broadway performers ever, and I witnessed performances by some of the greatest of just about every genre of music, as well, but Dimash is (IMHO) the greatest vocalist I have ever heard in my 82+ years on this planet! Yup, Dimashocker, huh? Genre? What genre???.....all of them, plus a few inventions of his own! Igor Krutoy, at the piano composed this for Dimash's abilities. If Igor is at the piano, he's composed the music. He came out of retirement to work with Dimash, & they have pretty much a father/son relationship. He is so awesome, isn’t he? Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I’m a real fan of movies that have such a mystical or oriental atmosphere. And it was such a great idea by Dimash to use the Qobyz for that. The Qobyz is a very old two stringed Kazakh folk instrument and it’s wide spread among Kazakhs. The man who often is playing the kobyz in Dimash’s performance (also here in Stranger) is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You often can hear this instrument when Dimash sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter. In the end of Stranger he introduced him to the audience and he thanked them. As a Kazakh he speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently. He sang Stranger for the first time at New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international competition for young artists, founded in 2002 by Igor Krutoy. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy, like so many other masterpieces, wrote this song specifically for Dimash and his incredible vocal range (in this song alone he sings 5 octaves F1-F6 I think). And the last note he held for 20 seconds. The way he switchs so affortlessly between the different registers and octaves in one song is so mesmerizing and unbelievable. Stranger was written by the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. His and Dimash's collaboration created true masterpieces. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him.The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. He wrote this song and others especially for Dimash’s wide vocal range. Please react to Olimpico from his Arnau concert in 2019 next. In this song he sings in Italian. You can find it on Igor Krutoy‘s Channel. Olimpico is another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for Dimash’s vocal skills. It was written for the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Belarus 2019. And that’s why the lyrics are also very motivating. This song and this performance from this Arnau concert is my absolute favourite🥰 I think this version is the best, because his performance is so intense and breathtaking. The light show, the background dancers. Everything. With this song in this version I always get breathlessness. The way he represents himself on stage, the hand movements. I think he has incredibly beautiful hands🤭(and apparently many cameramen think so too, since many of the camera shots during his performances very often only show his hands. Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so commanding😱. In my opinion, this version of Olimpico is one of the most impressive performances ever. If you don't know what the song is about, you'd think he was going to war and is calling his army to a lost battle 😅! It’s absolutely stunning. And I don't even mean the vocal part, but also his stage presence. The whole package. Oh wow I’m starting to rave again…🤤 Sorry but I can’t help it🥺. Thanks for your reaction here, Saeed. I've been on the Dimash train for 5 years or so now, & I'm always pleased to see new folks get on. Buckle up! It's gonna be a wild ride! By most accounts, Dimash sings in a dozen or more languages, & he can be said to speak (that is, with full or at least some fluency) at least 4. Understand, he hails from Kazakhstan, an old Russian satellite state, so at the very least, he has 2 native languages : Kazakh & Russian. It's very widely known that he also speaks both Mandarin Chinese & English with some fluency. Beyond that, I really don't know what he might be fluent in, but I wouldn't doubt there are 1 or 2 more. All the other languages he sings in are done by way of phonetic memorization, an art in its own right. Alongside his extreme musical virtuosity, he's really quite a phenomenon from a linguistic perspective, too. Again, thanks for your reaction here. Cheers.

Your quote "one man band" perfectly sums up Dimash. Such an incredible young man that I first heard some 5 years ago and became totally fixated with everything he does. His range, his power, his clarity, stage presence and total understanding of music has lifted him to the heights he so deserves. Yet, he still remains so humble. A breath of fresh air. Have you heard his duet with Placido Domingo singing Bizets the Pearl Fishers, only one day to rehearse and he had also been ill, it is wonderful.

Russian his native language, he speaks absolutely pure, with no any accent. Don't miss his version of "the diva dance" song which created to be impossible to sing. But he does. ;) Also your be shocked with his version of Lara Fabian "adagio" song. Not less of "opera2", which is a power demonstration of his voice. I am very envy you because you have everything ahead. ;)

His 1st language is Qazaq. Then Russian bc it was part of Russia til 1991. They are changing their alphabet now. He now speaks very good English and Mandarin bc he stayed in China after The Singer competition he was in, in 2017. You should watch that and see what he did at 22. Some songs need the backstory first, i,e. DAYBREAK and DAIDIDAU. They are necessary to understand what each song is about, both are true, sad stories. You will never be disappointed with anything he does.

Dimash is fluent in Russian and Kazakh and can handle a conversation in English. He also speaks a little of Chinese. He sings in 15 languages. You need to watch his new MV When I’ve Got You. This is a song that he composed, but not the only. You will appreciate his versatility and the beauty of his voice in a new style of music for him. Dimash parle le kazakh et le russe couramment et commence à bien maitriser l'anglais, mais il chante en plus de 12 langues (mandarin, français, espagnol, italien etc...). L'instrument kazakh est un KOBYZ, il est taillé d'un seul bloc dans du bois de noyer et les deux cordes sont en crin de cheval. C'est un instrument ancestral de la culture turco mongole, tu le verras dans quelques autres chansons, surtout des chansons traditionnelles kazakhes. Merci pour ta réaction, ça parait impossible à dire mais depuis cette chanson, Dimash s'est encore amélioré, il nous offre encore des nouveautés, on ne se lasse jamais car ses chansons sont toutes différentes en style

Hi Saeed, so glad you continue to enjoy Dimash's music! And this is a truly a great one! I love blasting STRANGER in the house so I can hear that amazing resonance thunder thru the whole house especially that last note - I swear that last sustained note is a healing vibrational frequency ha ha!! Just a heads up, Dimash uses his voice to serve his musical creations. While he does do some really fun pieces to showcase his voice in a super OMG kinda "that's not human" way, on the whole he uses his "instrument" as he calls it to serve the song, which means he does not always use his full firepower, or vocal fireworks, or sing up into the stratosphere. Just letting you know because some reviewers get pretty disappointed because they come to expect and always want to hear Dimash display his big vocal fireworks. Additionally, Dimash does full length solo concerts around the world. He has to create the right mix in his concert repertoire so that the emotional and sound dynamics for the entire show balance. Otherwise if you just sing one explosive song after another for 2 plus hours it doesn't work; and practically, it is vocally not healthy to blast one's voice for over 2 hours with song after song being full of fireworks. Dimash held that note for 19 seconds. In Sinful Passion, he held the note for 22 seconds. Dimash does not speak in all those languages, but he does sing in 14 languages. His English has improved greatly, as well as his Mandarin. When he first appeared on Singer 2017, he only spoke Kazakh and Russian. His first four songs were in French, Russian, English, and Mandarin. They only allowed one week to learn the song for each performance. He was the youngest and first foreigner in the show's history at 22 years, and the only non-professional singer. The other singers were 10-39 years his senior with established professional careers. It's amazing to watch how Dimash grew from that show til now. He still practice vocal training for 3-5 hours every day.
