Yes! 😄 When I first time heard him singing S.O.S. song, I thought it is a hoax . So I went through Internet till the morning to listen bunch of his other songs and back-stage clips from The Singer2017 😂. I also found out he didn't had enough big international repertoire at the time, and he (with help of course) had to prepare 13 songs in 3 month (and there are also some complicated rules I don’t understand). So he had to impress them, otherwise he would be excluded from the competition. Singer was the competition of in China well known singers (all singers are invited). He was invited as a “wildcard”. The young foreigner, not established singer who at the time of this contest (2017) hardly spoke English. So although he finished second, he was a winner. With his first performance (S.O.S.), he got huge numbers of fans in China and his career skyrocketed. Now, he is 4 years older, his voice got even better . Every song he takes, he changes it in the way that is...o, whatever... try different songs... just don’t skip the Chinese repertoire, because it ain’t bad at all. And enjoy the ride 🙂

My deaf friend is fascinated with him. He has been completely deaf since birth. He asked if I can describe in words why people react the way they do to him. As he described it singing looks funny to him..like people dancing around with their mouths open. But with Dimash people act as if they have never heard a sound like that before. No we haven't and those words haven't been invented yet. I tried by saying it's like experiencing the beauty of the entire ocean at once. The gentle crashing waves in the sun, and the darkest secret undiscovered depths at the same time. It's so uncomfortable shocking with it's soul bending tones.

I feel you, brother, when you're fishing for terms you don't know to describe this incredible singer. If you want to learn those terms, listen to Dimash reactions -- I've listened to a LOT of them for the past few years -- and you'll find incredibly well educated and accomplished singers from all over the world reacting, feeling exactly the way you and I do about this voice, but **they know the right terms**, and when they use them, then you learn them, too. I know probably 30 or 40 vocal terms now that I got exclusively from Dimash reactions. It is a trip! Welcome to Dimash world. Enjoy.

G wu...several of the songs he sings on this show are about real people and events and she also tells the story behind the song...After Dimash sang this song he was invited to France to perform it...he went...and as everyone has already told you "you haven't seen/heard anything yet...go to his YT channel for some on his more recent performances and his amazing concerts...Dimash has sung soundtracks for Movies, rv dramas and video games...including the new sci/fi, fantasy movie "Creators..the past" and Jackie Chan's new movie...even the Power Rangers movie...so there is almost no end to videos by Dimash and so many different styles....

You said you didn’t know terms. I don’t either some anyways. The song doesn’t have one genre category because he switched singing styles about 5 times. That’s why it’s so hard to identify. He had rock belting. He had classical and operatic tones with heavy vibrato. He had pop and popopera as the two mixed. He sang in a about 5 registers. One note the F5 he sang about 3 different ways so that you didn’t know he was singing the same note you just heard. But it was quick as he moved from octave range to octave range. Just as you were dimashified here in all his performances he shocks.he’s had so many years, over 20 of training his songs switch from genre to genre. You are now hooked it’s a joyous ride. Dimash has 7 octaves and 2 semitones range. An octave is eight notes and he sings profiently in all of. On this Chinese show he didn’t show off his base range but if you continue to listen to him you will find him singing those base notes with vocal fry.

Few people can walk away after hearing this song. You're in for a long and happy ride. This was 3.5 years ago and he's gotten better and better. You'll be surprised by every performance. He performs in many languages and mashes up the usual genres then throws in ethnic music and playing 7 instruments on top of that.

This song was on 1st show of season & Dimash was 1st up. Although known in his country, he was unknown every- where else, but after this he was overnight sensation in China, then video went viral all over 🌍 & the rest is history Dimash is a 26 yr, 6’3” tall PRODIGY from Kazakhstan, (was 22 yrs here). He’s driven but grounded (a genuine nice & humble guy). He has a 6-7 octave range & can jump from 1 octave to another with ease which baffles most, (like someone jumping from 5th floor to basement back 2 roof in one jump). He plays 7 instruments, speaks 3 languages (2 well) & sings in 12 languages. His Mom an opera Singer & Dad a Pop Singer very famous in his country. Welcome to the world of Dimash! He is 26, from Kazakhstan and sings in 12 languages, but does not speak them all. He sings classical, pop, folk and world music. He also plays many instruments. He started music school at 5 years old. This was his first performance in a Chinese show called "The Singer".
