Dimash actually ASKED his dad as they went off stage if he sang good. How cool is that? Dimash didn’t win the competition in China because the rules only allowed for a Chinese contestant to win. They changed the rules the next year. Dimash was the audience favorite. ❤️❤️

This is one of my favs. He was a foreigner in China. I believe that is why he got second place. He was a virtual unknown in that country.

That lady trying to hit the note, Sandy Lam, won The Singer 2017 competition. She’s a great singer in her own right and was an audience favourite. The 2017 series of The Singer is really worth watching not only to see all of Dimash’s performances (he came second) but to see the other competitors, all famous, professional singers. The production values, musicians, backup singers, maestros, lighting technicians, etc are second to none. Standouts for me were Terry Lin (he became very close to Dimash during the show), Jason Zhang and Lion band. In The Singer 2018, Jessie J competed and won with some amazing performances. Hua Chenyu (a big star in China) came second. If you’re looking for other artists to react to you should check out Hua Chenyu - he will blow your mind - an artist, incredible performer, composer, philosopher, instrumentalist, arranger, rapper, rocker, soulful, emotive performer. English subs are a must - his lyrics are deep and meaningful. Love your reactions 🇦🇺

Dimash fans from all around the world have helped him to finish #1 in requests in 9 of the past 10 weeks on the MTV Friday Livestream which will resume on Friday, June 4.. In order to keep him on top (and to get two of his music videos played instead of just one) we need to show up in large numbers and type REQUEST DIMASH as many times as possible in the chat during the three hour program. The MTV Friday Livestream appears on youtube Fridays from 5-8 pm New York time (don't forget to calculate your time zone differences). It’s interesting that you chose both “Opera 2”and “Hello “ for your videos today. “Opera 2” is by the Russian artist Vitas and ‘Hello” is of course by Lionel Ritchie. In both cases, each artist seems to have had their artistic ego bruised by Dimash’s superior vocals. Both of these artists had their lawyers issue cease and desist orders against Dimash, preventing him from performing either one of these songs again.

Yes. Dimash goes up three key changes compared to Vitas's one and somebody wasn't happy about it. Not sure who is to blame for the ban but doesn't really matter because Dimash's cover on the show is easily accessible for now.
