It is a competion so he was showing off sort of......this is a cover of a song by a man named Vitas. He takes it several notes higher........and they checked. He was REALLY singing.

Is it true that Vitas complained about Dimash Kudaibergen singing his song "Opera 2" on I'm Singer stage? It’s my understanding that the problem with Dimash singing the song was not that he sang it (although some claim that Vitas was jealous because Dimash sang it better), but that the Singer show did not get the proper copyright permissions for the use of the song on the show before it aired. I believe they did actually get the permissions after the fact, but the damage was already done as far as Vitas was concerned. Vitas said that he would never again give permission for Dimash to sing the song in any venue for any reason, essentially banning Dimash from ever singing it again.

He takes the mike away so that when he does there’s no sound and when he brings it back you can hear him to prove that he is singing he did it at the London concert that I went to and he defo did no lip syncing there. To see him live is another experience that you must go to if he comes back he is so powerful and his voice is out of this world I was about four feet away from him and to look at he is beautiful very tall and slim,just incredible. Oh no lip syncing allowed in Chinese competition

that can be a small reason but it is also a reason because without taking the mike further away the sound register is much louder at higher pitches and to pull the mike away during high notes is to appear the same volume to the listener instead of louder and quieter during low notes, very good mike skills.

People that say he’s faking don’t know shit about music and live performances. Yes some artists will cheat but he’s been training since he was a child by parents who are professional singers. Other than proving his singing by moving the mic away it’s also called mic control. Understanding your voice how strong it’s is. When to bring in close or pull it away. Also starting the mic from far away then pulling it close is a fade in effect for artistic reasons. Watch vocal coaches reactions, he’s the real deal.

Another possibility for his particular mic movement in this song is that it produces an energy efficient crescendo. Just a thought. His range is insane...registered from C2 to D8. I watched the concert video where he hit the D8

Nice reaction, and I liked the discussion after. Always interesting to hear your opinions about the performance you just watched. About the thing where Dimash starts singing the high note and then brings the mic up to his mouth, that is actually a technique he is using. He makes sure he has hit the note correctly and with good volume before he lets it catch the microphone. Keep watching Dimash. (I recommend Daybreak at Bastau… my most favourite performance by him. Enjoying your joint reactions - thank you! I read somewhere that the type of classical vocal training Dimash has had - bel canto - is designed to show off the voice without straining, so it does look effortless. (It's supposed to be a healthy way of singing, I think.)

My opinion, one of the reasons he keeps going up at the end - the original song was sung by Vitas and he was showing that he could go higher than him. Daybreak at Bastau concert is great, Unforgetable Day on the Singer is one of my favorites also :) Hi from Chicago

Dimash did sings this song, he no needs to sing in lipsyn. He usually sings songs in very high and low note, whistle and many ... This type of songs is very easy for him to sings. Dimash started interested in music at age 2. Dimash started learns singing and how to plays all types of music instructments at age 3 untill now.

You have to be able to discuss the issue. Fans that critique that are as bad as those that without listening to many of his performances and accuse him of lip syncing.

@Mike Alex absolutely... but the debacle of lip syncing mostly came up after the Singer 2017. Also its easy to debunk the lip sync during the Singer performances like in the end of S:O:S when he sings so breathy that the autotuning freaks out causing a robitic sound....that will never happen if its lip sync. There are more examples like that in the Singer show. What i meant was that blindely go either way and hating isnt the right way to deal with... if we fans of Dimash doesnt allow discussions about it, it will also end up hurting Dimash or any new artist. I mean fans of Dimash has on many occasions been called cult like... its important to not overdo anything. The Debunk videos that the likes of WWRahmania and Smylyface has done is a better way to handle such criticism.

This song was originally done by a russian performer named Vitas. But Dimash goes way beyond what Vitas could do. And his voice is much more melodic overall than Vitas. And it was Vitas who waves the mike around because he has been accused many times of lipsynching. But Dimash could not be lipsynching here because the Chinese do not allow it in this competition.

Where do I find your reaction to Opera 2? Okay, we just watched that, right after I asked. I think most people, myself included, find his displays of virtuosity to be intensely interesting and impressive. It's amazing to me that someone can achieve such skillful effects with nothing but their mastery over their voice. Actually, I find everything about him and his music pretty much perfect, and I suppose in a way I'm lazy, as a critic, since I constantly find his music exquisitely beautiful and deeply moving. I should hate to lose the ability to experience it that way. It was a bit of a come-down to find someone who was uninterested in his unique control, his crystal clarity during those "whoops," and his basic charm---in fact, to find the whole works laughable. I am not unacquainted with classical music, and I realize that to many afficionados of that, Dimash may seem merely a sideshow. However, I find it to be ever-so-much more than that; in fact, since I first started listening to it, I have noticed a reduction in the depression that used to plague me. I'm grateful for anything that makes me more able to function at a higher level, and to experience the light-hearted enjoyment that this music has restored to me.

You should do something with current events (not gossip) like the news but with balance I say this to say you would be perfect for it. Vitas lip syncs in some of his performances now. There is a sensor that detects when there is a voice entering the mic when he shakes the mic and plays the songs in accordance.

All The Singers performances are live, otherwise what's the point a singing competition if it's pre recorded...? There are presentations where he is obviously lip syncing, no doubt. Most of his TV stuff seems pre recorded to me. Not an expert though...
