To me, he is the epitome of how perfect technique sacrifices the authenticity and musicality of genuine emotional singing. I would argue this makes him objectively arbitrary for a lot of listeners, there certainly is an audience for it, but his singing is vapid, soulless, overly calculated. Like Jacob Collier.

Dimash is a perfectionist and a workaholic. In interviews on Kazak TV, he stated that he wakes up at 5AM (7 days a week). By 5:30AM he has begun doing 3 hours of vocal exercises (scales, arpeggios, lip bubbles, etc..). That is before he even begins his workday in the studio or at rehearsals for a concert. To improve his lung capacity and breath control, he will either swim laps in a pool for 1 hour uninterrupted or hit the treadmill for a 5k run. Sometimes, he will substitute that for a full-on 90-minute soccer match with his mates and their team. (He has good ball skills as you can see here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaXCnaKhhL9_jdk ). He doesn’t drink, either! He will often work 12-14 hour days. He says he hates vacations. Dimash is the real deal when it comes to showing how hard work and dedication will make you succeed!

I loooove at 8:16 where he doesn’t finish the lyric. He leaves us on "...if I had the strength to begin...’, then he punches out, and BEGINS AGAIN, STRONGLY, indicating that he IS strong enough to begin again. And it makes us feel like we have a little more strength, too. And then he emphasizes that strenth even more with a 19 second hold on that end note 🤯 I believe these lyrics were originally about reincarnation, but Dimash's emphasis feels to me like he’s singing about refugees, immigrants, those displaced from their homes. It’s another freakin' Masterpiece by Igor Krutoy, and Dimash, and Dimash’s Team 🙌🏼🇨🇦💜🇰🇿

You reacted to this almost 2 months ago. Asia, I came back to this and listened to this another time with you guys puplus I’ve heard it with other reactors.I think I’ve seen Dimash hold a long note several times. This wasb20 seconds. Sinful Passion wasb24 second with runs and riffs. It might have not just been runs but scales of which there are different kinds. But before Dimash hit the word “Again” for the long note, male sounding singers did nan “aah” sound that sounded like monks they pause, did a rest with no singing then Dimash sang the long note and female and male sings came in as the background. There is no way the background singers could have matched even 15 seconds of his 20 seconds so they were doing some harmonies male and females. And something like the aalladin thing you were talking about. But I thought I heard stagger breathing that we learned in choir both in high school and in college choirs. So the professional Dimash hits his note the tonic or the top of the chord, the background singers are finishing out the chord or chords and they’re are each one taking a breath at different places thaeach other so the harmonies aren’t lost in that 20 seconds. Asia did you every do this in school?

I love this song. It is great. It shows off his technical ability. His other song, Fly Away, should become a pop hit here in the USA (heck everywhere). It doesn’t show his vocal gymnastics like this one, but it is phenomenal in a different way. His attitude on stage is so different too than this one. Check out Fly Away. You won’t regret it.

My favourite *ever* Dimash song/performance/experience! It's like, think of all the things you like most about his voice, and put them all in one song - then add in a bunch of stuff we've never heard him do before, hear how he's (somehow!) improved on all the rest, appreciate how awesomely the song was written, and then see it all wrapped up in one epic stage show... I just can't get enough!🎶💕 (and I have to say, how great a bonus it is that the man seems to get hotter and more gorgeous with each day that passes!😉)

You have to get into the Dimash cray cray. Listen to his version of Lionel Ritchie's "Hello". That will amaze you like nothing else. The guy is a Phenom when it comes to his range. He is the only artist that I can listen to in any language he sings that makes me say WOW. For me it's not the words anymore it's the feeling that speaks to me.
