Truly the worst night in rock history ever and it happened in my home city here in Columbus, Ohio. I’ve played at Alrosa numerous times with my old band and even my dad played and opened for Queensrÿche back in the 80s there but I have to admit, it’s never quite been the same since. Such a horrific event and a night that so many of us will all remember. There is so much rock history for this small venue to people who aren’t from Ohio but this was without a doubt the worst thing to ever can happen. No excuse for anyone to die. All of us as musicians and fans of their music were only there to have a great time. Dime was an AMAZING guitarist. THANK YOU to Columbus PD for responding so quickly within 3 mins of the dispatch call but sadly it only took 10 seconds to murder 4 people. RIP Dimebag 🤘🏼

There was a weird poster in guitar world that year too that advertised a Damageplan concert (before he died), and it had a reddish demon or something drawing a chalk body outline in a parking lot of a night club. I still think about that. It was during the same tour but in the magazine it mentioned a different club in Ohio, not Alrossa. Strange either way, if you ask me.

Unbelievable story for all roadies, band and first responders. I just was rockin out and this is a unreal story in rock and roll history. Peace to all! Keep it real like this entire crew. It was nobodies fault. Great first responders in a crazy situation. Unfortunately we lost many beautiful music lovers and an Icon. Brave people and people that looked out for one another. Rock On!

I remember that day/night so clearly and it hasn't faded a bit.. woke up to get ready for work and turned on my TV for the news like I always done every morning and it was the main headline and I sat in disbelief as I watched the news anchor live at the scene tell the horrific story and I as a Pantera fan just couldn't believe what I was hearing and man I tell you I just sat there looking at the ground saying to myself, no fxcking way that dimebag is gone, omg wtf man, 😩💔
