Tony Amott yeah I agree totally. I never was a fan until I saw this video, kinda lumped them in with Cradle as the most mainstream black metal bands. I wonder if they're one of those groups that their energy just can't be captured in the studio

One of VERY few bands that could probably record an album without all of the modifications to make it sounds "perfect". Shagrath's voice sounds excellent without anything to enhance it ^_^. Dimmu Borgir will always be one of my top 5 favorite bands

Those vocals are perfect.They just incorporate the true meaning of the whole song in that lyrical part,and if they would have been growled,they'd have been just like the rest of the lyrics,but those vocals really take them out,at the surface,those vocals give the lyrics power and meaning

One of the greatest songs ever written. Yea I said it. It's totally pro. Just fucking seamless. And not a bit of filler, and every note and chord progression makes perfect sense all the way through. This was their golden age for sure. And I'm so happy I got to see them live while Vortex and Mustis were still in the band.
