If I am not mistaken, Carl has explained it on his Patreon that he has coded into his mod for celebrities to not "behave or be react to" so that all Sims can dine out like normal.

I wouldn't buy a broken pack just for this mod, but if you like the idea of dining out or running your own running then highly recommend! I loved dine out back when it was still working. I may just re-download the pack so I can download this mod so my sims can start dining out again

Im so sad, that the mod doesnt work for me - I have no waiters... I know about the bug with the fame option ON/OFF, but nothing changes. I only get chefs and bartenders, but no waiters :( as soon as I delete the mod, the waiters will show up 😕

I just highly suggest that people check out ALL of Carl's mods! If you only want to use a few mods, use MCC, and Carl's stuff. He has Game Overhaul, which does many things that you would need SEVERAL mods for, otherwise. He has one that lets you click 'evolve all' or 'fertilize all' and your sim will then go do that, instead of you having to click each plant individually to do that. He has lots of quality of life stuff that's kind of grouped into a few mods, so you don't need to download a lot of stuff, but the mods themselves have lots of options in game that are easy to sift through. So if you just want quality of life upgrades, he's got you covered!

@1:10 how very Sims 2. My game play last night in Sims 2 used that "pay to enter" kiosk because I just wanted to run a buffet restaurant and not deal with taking orders and waiting on tables. It's a fun way to level up a cooking career sim, which is what I was doing while she lived in the studio upstairs.

Here's the problem I have, I don't play with mods. I shouldn't have to. The game mechanics should just work. I feel EA doesn't fix their broken bs because they know modders will just fix it for free. There's a lot of people who don't use mods for various reasons. This is still unacceptable to me. EA fix your sh!t

I cannot stress enough how amazing this mod is - I use it all the time. EA should learn something, or just hire modders. FYI: if you want more customers in your restaurant you can use the decals that came with Dine Out, place them around the lot and they will bring you more customers.

Carl has stated that there is no way he would work with them, and they would no doubt not be able to use his work, since he does things in a very different way than they do - modders exist and can do wild stuff for a reason! They can play outside the bounds of normal coding, so...this sentiment is nice, but not practical. If modders worked for EA, they would no longer be able to make such nice things, and would be restricted to the same rules normal devs are. Be glad they're not working for EA!

What I meant about it was why EA just doesn't give more creative freedom to their team, or just hire some modders with creative freedom for special projects. I guess it is impractical. I'm so thankful we have modders and very grateful for all their hard work.

The sims 4 becomes a waste of money, because why with the addition of Dine Out they didn’t open up the bartender/chef base game career why would they still be rabbit holes? And restaurant owners are entrepreneurs but entrepreneurship didn’t become available until high school years what the heck? The packs are completely unorganized and it becomes insulting as the player when you have to finesse a story line as opposed to it playing out more naturally.

There is a mod that allows you to own a bar if you want. You took a restaurant mod to not use it for a restaurant. There is also a mod you can do an arcade and have it charge Sims to enter.

Am I the only one whose Dine Out has always worked properly? Sim KZbinrs always say it's broken but...but mine works. lol! I always have my sims go on dinner dates. The only issue I remember is a period of time where they'd stop eating if their drink was empty. So I just stopped ordering drinks for the sims I wasn't in control of.

This has been out for ages! Check out all of Carl's mods - his gameplay overhaul is ALSO so good! It basically combines nice quality of life features you would otherwise need multiple mods for. He also has one for letting you fertilize and evolve all plants, so you don't have to click over and over.

You can still get it, AND not pay EA! I've been doing that for years. Hit up google and do some searching, it's very easy to do these days. The person providing it even has an updater that lets you pick which packs you want. It is useable with a legit copy of TS4. Never give EA money! Not until they stop disrespecting customers and giving us broken products!

I don't know about anyone else, but personally, having it say "playing as" kills the immersion for me. It should say something like "working as." Also, It's always nice to see that the game packs are completely fixable. The way that all the packs get released in what the game would call "poor quality" and left that way proves how dishonorable and money-centric EA is. And will they ever fix it? Of course not. They'll make Sims 5 and do it all over again.
