Thanks for sharing the good life with us all Paul. So great to vicariously experience some of the beautiful vistas out there in the great outdoors, especially those few spectacular sunsets! It certainly is a blessed life, so nice to see someone seeking out the little moments of gratitude particularly in such trying times. It’s definitely the little things ;) Your videos are becoming addictive, almost as much so as veggie bacon for us vegans out there! Looking forward to the next adventure.

Wonderful vid, beautiful place. We did wonder about the noise. You said we might be able to hear the freeway, but it sounded like an army of crickets or flying insects, or maybe somebody constantly frying something on a neighbouring boat. 🍳🦗

Hey Paul. I don't live too far away and I like taking my sailboat out on the Hawkesbury as well. Can't trailer mine though haha. Would you suggest any good places to stop up Cowan Creek or further up the other way towards Berowra Waters? I'm looking for a few new places to pull up for the night. Love the video by the way. Cheers.

@@SailingKateLouise no from the Brooklyn area. The boat is a 27ft sloop with solid keel. I'd like to get a trailer sailor like yours at some point, particularly a wooden one.

@@acs108 Well there are quite a few mooring but in summer it's a race with the houseboats if you want a check out the Map 9A from service NSW about $7. The bays nearer to Bobbin head are a bit quieter Lords Bay, Cotton Tree Bay, Waratah bay can be a little noisy at night as you can here the freeway, but Yeoman's bay is good. Smith's Creek is also good but popular in Summer. Hope this helps. If you are thinking about getting into dinghy cruising ( ie Lake Macquarie and Myall lakes etc check out RAID Sydney on facebook. cheers Paul

With regard to trailer bearings, never over-pack them with grease, it'll only cause overheating problems..Best way is to clean and pack them by hand only..Once you've been shown how, it's pretty simple.

hi you mentioned that you launched at apple tree bay, is there enough wind to actually sail from there? seems like it would be a bit too sheltered to get a decent breeze i'm thinking of buying/building a trailer sailer and i live in turramurra so would be very convenient to be able to launch from there! thanks
@SailingKateLouise
@SailingKateLouise 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Arthur, I live in Hornsby and often put in at Appletree Bay or Parsley Bay at Brooklyn. Appletree bay has a great ramp, lots of parking and never really crowded. However be aware of Oysters on left of ramp before the jetty starts, can get interesting if the wind is in the wrong direction. Cowan Creek generally has light winds and the high sides means winds can be flukey and change direction by 180 degrees with little warning.. Another downside is jetskis, there are many but mainly at the weekends during the week it is beautiful. Parsley Bay at Brooklyn also has a good ramp with Jetty and parking but it's a nightmare at the weekends in summer. Be there by 6am or you won't get a park for the trailer. having said that there is some overflow parking up the top.During the week is also perfect. Let me know when you have decided on a boat to buy or build I would like to follow the process and always good to sail with new people. my email is sailingkatelouise@gmail.com cheers Paul
