It's said Dean got (well, OK, 'stole') his on stage persona from Harry Mills - and I'm so glad he did. You can see the great affection Dean had for Harry & his brothers - and I can absolutely see why he felt that way.

........ Actually fb30xhk, it's easy to understand. We have most WW2 folks gone now, the generations after either had it in their homes, or they didn't. Our family did. So here I am at 61 loving all this music. But today's generation, has no desire for it. It was never played in the house when they were little kids. My parents had this stuff on LP records, and played them over and over. WE grew to love this great music. Today's kids listen for a minute or two, and switch to another station. They are bored with today's music. { can't blame them there }

The reason why Dean is wearing a white jacket, is because he is recreating the time when he met the Mills Brothers the very first time way back when.Back then, Dean would come out wearing a white jacket back in the day. Dean looked a little nervous and a little stiff, so Harry Mills suggested that he would light up a cigarette, and have a drink or two to calm down his nerves. And that was that. Then, when he begin working with Jerry Lewis, he didn't have the cigarette nor did he have the booze; it was after the partnership broke up, that he needed to reinvent himself with a new image and that's when he began using the cigarette, and and a glass in the other hand as part of his props on stage. It was reported by many, that it was nothing other than Apple juice, and once in a while iced tea in the glass. (To give it the illusion as if it was alcohol ) however, he did admit in several interviews, that he would have a glass of wine🍷 or two only with dinner; and that was about it. On stage and on T.V. it would usually be apple juice, or Ice tea his prop guy mentioned. It was also believed that after his son Dean Paul Jr. Passed away, he then began drinking heavily.

"Lips that touch liquor shall never touch mine!" If you're in a hurry and don't think you can spare six minutes to watch in its entirety, move the sound thingee over to the 2:00 mark. I defy anyone not to burst out laughing as Dean Martin self-parodies his supposed (fictional) addiction to booze. Frank said Dean was "never drunk" on stage. Worth watching from the beginning as Dean recalls that when he was starting out, he got to share the same bill with The Mills Brothers. Thanks Dino4Ever for sharing. Celebrated elsewhere this day [search] " Great Melody, Great Lyric, Great Rendition, Songwriting Workshop, Harmony Central "
