@@aynakotalaga I think you're right. Vivian was awesome but Goldy was hell on wheels, too. Edit: Yes, this is definitely Craig Goldy. Still killer, agreed! Anyway... besides the fact of the BC Rich Warlock guitar, I knew something was different about how the song was being played. It's right after Dio's "We are coming.... home!" Vivian definitely emphasized different parts of that rhythm guitar part than Goldy does here. It's subtle, and only lasts until the verse kicks in, but: Vivian trades off with the keyboards, whereas Goldy plays along with the keyboard part. I always enjoyed hearing that bit and was surprised when I didn't hear it in this video. Dio Last in Line (live) in 1984, with Vivian Campbell on lead guitar: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6KYhGRmmah7l6c

Ronnie got a hold of this and invited the band to his upcoming show in Providence. He sent several tickets to the band. I was dating the bassists brother at the time, so naturally, he invited me. I had no idea I'd end up back stage meeting this man. After Ronnie concluded his business with our little band, he approached me and said, "so I've been told you're from Greece"? "When we're you brought over to the States"? And this conversation lasted for a half an hour. Ronnie was highly into Greek mythology.

For someone who is only 5 ft 4 inches Ronnie James Dio has commanding stage presence, much more than his taller peers. I wish I could have seen him perform live. That would have been an amazing experience. Rest in peace Mr Dio

Walking to school, small town, the seventh grade. Headphones on max, attempting to drown out the chaos, yelling and screaming reverberating still in my ears, from home. Dio and Rainbow in the dark saved my life. Nobody liked me in that school. It would have been nice even if just the teachers showed kindness. I remember feeling very ridiculed, feeling less than... but it didn't matter because I had metal. Metal said hey man you're cool. your alright and we're gonna have fun... to me anyway ...

@before120 I here you loud and clear! At one point I was in the hospital hoping my leg didn't get amputated as a direct result of the atrocities perpetrated upon me as a child! I left home at an early age and slept in my car that I was too young to own. 5 years later Headlining Madison Square Garden with my favorite singer performing songs that we wrote and recorded together!! Dreams Come True ! Things are not always as they seem! I hope things are better for you!! If not let me know, I've just been approved by the IRS for my 501c3 non-profit organization to be approved and maybe I can help you! Keeping Ronnie's ways with his fans alive!! God Bless You!! Let me know when you feel like it!!

Once in a lifetime legendary performer, 1st time i heard Dio (12) changed my life forever. I'm now nearly 50 and have heard so few who could even dream of matching him (without "trickery" that is ). RIP Ronnie

Once upon a time a Man God roamed the earth , his name was Ronnie James Dio and Kings of Kings across the land feared this entity because he was able to eviscerate them with a single breath . Fortunately for mankind he was a loving , kind and humble ruler .

Seen him in concert in Louisville,Kentucky 1985. He said there isn't a lot of you out there but you make up the difference in loudness. By far the best concert ever been to. Great talent, good man gone too soon.

RJ Dio opened his world tour with his new band "Dio" in Antioch, CA at the Concert Barn. After the show he took the time to write this on an Ernie Ball guitar string wrapper: "To me (first and last name), keep on singing. RJ Dio. I was a lead singer for a local band at the time. It's my most prized possession to this day. I met and talked with him before the show too. Just a down to earth, kind, gentle man. My idol. Keep on singing in heaven my brother. Rock on...
