That philosopher thought Machiavelli was the ideal philosophy. The life of crime and anarchy uninhibited by christianity and christian conscience is what Nietzche was basically teaching.He got his wish with the nazis,whom he would have admired most of the way. he is responsible for them.

It's actually not clear if he was an atheist or a deist btw. In his earlier works there's hint of theism. However his philosophy ultimately became about that the existence of God doesn’t matter. Aristotelean God also has that indifferent characteristic.

True atheism cannot solely be compared in the shadow of Christianity, it is a too simplified in a manner to try "dummify" all atheists. If you were brought up in a society that ain't Christian and reject that religion doesn't mean you compared to Christians. Nietsche seem to have a sound approach but I have to give me more time to digest this and study further before embracing him totally. Another thing is that I don't agree on is that Christian morality is fundamentally different than others including atheists. It is like saying that all others are immoral in some sense. Golden rule is a good example of a majorly universal moral or at the very least what common people share (not "clergy" and rulers perhaps).

Atheism is fundamentally flawed. As Carl Jung pointed out: “An atheist is a negative theist; naturally he would not deny a thing if he did not think it was there to be denied. He would not add the ‘a’. It is an admission of God when you call yourself an atheist, because whether you assert a thing or deny it, you confirm that it is: you cannot deny a thing without giving it a certain existence. It does exist somewhere even if you assume that it exists only in the minds of other people; that it exists in the minds of other people means that it does exist.” The author of this video obviously doesn’t like Christianity but instead of realising that it’s the Christian idea of God that is wrong, he stupidly concludes that it’s God itself that is false and that can be safely rejected. Nietzsche is actually one of the best proofs of all of God’s existence, as after declaring God was dead Nietzsche went insane and ended his life a a drooling vegetable. Carl Jung correctly diagnosed Nietzsche’s slide into madness: “So when Nietzsche declares that God is dead, instantly he begins to transform. With that declaration he is no longer a Christian, he is an atheist or it doesn’t matter what. He immediately gets into the process of that archetype of rebirth, because those vital powers in us which we call “God” are powers of self-renewal, powers of eternal change And as soon as this projection or this declaration, this creative god (whatever it is) is abolished, instantly that process begins in us. We are caught in those powers. If you don’t want to be caught in them, then don’t make such declarations; it is exceedingly foolish to make them, because you thus provoke the unconscious. Of course you think it is quite futile whether you make such a declaration or not, that you can say this or that about God and it makes no difference whatever. But I tell you it does make a difference in reality, only you won’t connect it with things.” God is on the other side of the unconscious - but it isn’t the Christian God.

I've always wondered which Christians Nietzsche was mostly exposed to in life, and how he came about viewing them. By what lenses, what substantial doctrinal investigations, if any, etc. Actual Catholic Doctrines for example have always been interested in utilizing historical sources and investigation in relation to events experienced by Christians and impacted by Christ. There is no doctrine of blind Faith, despite the acknowledgment that mankind is drawn to higher Truths and therefore God. However as a continuation of that, the Story of Christ is then essentially linked to documented history. Catholic Doctrine don't proclaim that the material world is completely separate from the spiritual world. It doesn't consider the act of purposeful moral sex in line with Natural Law and procreation itself at all sinful whatsoever. Just the opposite. Even Nietzsche's charge that Christianity is the embodiment of weakness is a blatantly flawed and incorrect assessment. Within Christianity, ultimate strength beyond all human ability is gifted and exalted through humility and willing surrender, and therefore fulfillment with Chrst. Anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

There are two sides to your instincts. There's your "higher self" which includes your heart, mind and arms that one uses to fight. And of course the lower self - the stomach, loins and legs used to run away. Of course the "fight or flight" response does not constitute all human instinct, which in fact directs our whole being. I wonder if the morals that Nietzsche identifies with Christianity are of Christian origin. These morals have probably been around much longer than Christianity and are also known in parts of the world where Christianity plays little or no role. Being against something because it is used in Christian morality is strange to say the least. Moreover, the Catholic Church has amply demonstrated that they do not care about their own moral teachings. The whole reasoning seems rather flawed and forced. All in all more likely an obsession than a deep insight. Not his strongest body of work.

the opposite of dionysus is apollo. the purple worm vs the golden android. dionysus represents rebirth and dying, living matter, so its not so rooted in the earth and its not atheism. its gnosticism. but nietzsche seems to be proposing hedonism and atheistic earth worshipping empiricism, which is paganism

There isn't any alternative for Christianity or Christian values. That's mostly because no one has really attempted to find any meaningful alternative for the masses. The problem is invisible for most. Nietzsche was not concerned about what the masses believed. He never presented his philosophy as the solution for all. That may be a good or a bad thing depending on who you are. It think the value of it is in the showing of how we could overcome these values. Nietzsche is the first and only person to attempt a full replacement of Christian values.

Creating an alterative wouldn't be the most difficult part. If you had a meaningful alternative the real challenge would be in establishing that alternative in a way so that it didn't become just another outgrowth of Christian values. Christianity has dominated in the west for so long that Christian value feelings feel instinctive. This is why wokism has so much power and all other left-wing ideologies. You have to change the psychological orientation of great masses of people to establish any real alternative set of values. Nietzsche's argument is fundamentally that Christianity caused a physiological degeneration in human beings because of its opposition to instinctive activity. It is a movement that is heading towards a passivity of all instinctive striving. Christianity was so successful because the soil was ripe for it. Nietzsche says no one is "converted" to Christianity "you have to be sick enough for it". People were already exhausted with activity, with willing. Christianity's promise of a "beyond," or "salvation," are seen as a redemption from the instinctive activity that life requires. As long as this "exhaustion" or "weariness" with life is prevalent, no real alternative to Christianity will be possible.

@@bryanutility9609 That's right. Nietzsche wanted to create a parallel society for the nobles. He would have just left the masses believe whatever they want to. I'm skeptical if its even possible to create a parallel society given our current political systems. Not to mention the elites are just as degenerate as the lower classes. Wokism got its start with upper class white liberals. I think a fundamentally new caste would have to emerge to replace them. Personally I think its the individuals responsibility to organize their own life for now.
