lol i felt the same way when I dipped my first frag and saw all those little bugs coming off my montipora. "Get outta here, this is not your home." Bristle worms and bad pods eating through the coral. When you know you know. Fairly satisfying to clean them off if I'm being honest.

Looks like a Chiton at the end. They generally eat algae.

Hey I just wanted to say that maybe you should check the rock underneath of the scoly as there might be a borrowing clam in there which would definitely slowly kill the scoly. I’d get someone with a saw to cut off all the additional rock underneath. It happened to me with one of my scolys.

What do you keep your nitrates at ? No food for the coral they’ll starve to death slowly … Are you dosing any amino acids ? Use rowaphos for phosphate removal . Gfo has heavy metals that cause issues

I recently got an emerald crab and and it similarly has been hanging out by my hammer coral every night and delicately plucking algae and other things off of it. The great news is that my hammer is looking better than ever! I’m guessing the crab helped with some pest. Maybe something similar is happening for you.

Do you measure alkalinity mg and calcium? Could be a nutrient issue

Haven’t measured mg in a while.. alk 8-8.5 calcium usually around 420

The crab is eating it. Crabs and shrimps tore down colony’s of zoas and acans . Once they get a taste for corals they have to go.

Great product. I use it in the KFC Dip. Part of the dip is to do a 10 min peroxide bath. 30-40 ml per 1 gallon of water.
