Parallel signal processing can really get wild especially when you mess with 100% wet reverbs or try to make your own modulation effects. I got hooked on it with the Joyo Orthos which is like a knock-off Boss LS-2. Now I have the Tri Parallel Mixer but I haven't had a chance to get acquainted.

I think the tpm offers a ton of options. It can be a poor man's switcher in XOR with a switch for lead, clean and dirty rhythm. It can let you do parallel experiments. It can also let you do wet dry if you run your wet effects to a second amp instead of back into the return. They call it tri parallel but it really has four channels counting the master channel. The other three channels don't have to actually come back into the master channel. You could do something like run all four channels into separate inputs on a mixer. The other assumption is that this is just a guitar pedal. I'm pretty sure any instrument with a 1/4 inch output can plug into it. lol. Keyboards? Yep. Drum machines? Yep. Loopers? Of course. And each can come in with a chain of pedals. You could also run this on the effects send of a PA and have three parallel chains of effects coming back on the return channel. I think it will be good for adding a blend to things like tremolos so you can go full chop but still have some dry. I'm also going to try parallel trems just for grins. Might be interesting to try a trem after a reverb in one of the channels so it doesn't touch the dry or other channels. I do like that ambient stuff in parallel. Combining things in that way is really the point of mixers and DAWs as well. Thanks for the video!

We could argue that routing ambient effects in mono is wrong as well, but let's not argue. Just came to listen and get some ideas as I research into parallel mixing for myself, but not diving in until I find a stereo solution. I'm thinking of ordering a custom-built stereo matrix mixer like the Pladask Stereo Matrise to a local audio engineer. Cheers

Where the stereo panorama of ambient effects in your mixing? I think a castration the ambient filling of ambient effect is strange idea… I'm trying to find stereo mixing pedals. But there are very few of them.

Really hope you see this... When you turn "Return" up and "Send" up.... what is the difference? Like ...... Where is it? Signally? I've got one... but I want to make sure the pedal is sounding how it's supposed to and not being affected by some circuitry in the TPM... so when I turn up the Return What am I turning up? Same for the Send... I don't know if I'm explaining this correctly.

send is how much signal you're sending and return is how much is coming back. ..have you figured this out on your end?

@@duster8373 Yeah I think so. What sucks is I have a Twin. No fxLoop in the back ya know. Everything is up front. (Yea I got a buffer). It's just this big pain in the ass. I may take it up to East Side Music Supply or Carters (I'm in Nashville) and just trade it for a Old Blood Noise Signal Blender.

@@allyourbasearebelongtous2191 i just ordered this Tri Parallel Mixer today and then subsequently found that Old Blood Noise Signal Blender. i can't say which looks better for me. i like the send/receive on the TPM but then i like the phase buttons on the OBNSB. i might have to give both a go

@@duster8373 The TPM is a great pedal. On paper... or like... idk... Objectively? It's "better" than the OBN because it has more options and stuff. But the OBN is definitely easier to manage. It would be nice if a creator did a proper deep dive on the fucking things. At least the TPM. But it's EHX ya know... they do their own thing. They don't send their shit out to everyone. So if the EHX channel doesn't quite dive deep enough on it (which they don't, but it is at least informative) then one is kind of shit outta luck. Ya just gotta turn knobs and see what comes out on the other end.

Serial and Parallel signal chains are like the Yin and Yang of the pedal board Universe. Just like momentary effects and extended are the Crucifix ( =Combines the vertical -momentary and the horizontal- extended) of the pedal board Universe.

Always a tool telling everyone they are wrong they are right. It’s all personal preference and what ever pedals at disposal. Unless you are EVH or Johnny Marr never heard of you.
