They miss a lot too. A fielder is supposed to cover up the throw, in case it misses. If it misses and the ball is not fielded by someone else, the batters can keep running. Sometimes the ball can end up going all the way to the boundary and the batter gets 4 runs in addition to what they have run.

The important thing on really 'tight' run outs is that the white line crease is said to belong to the fielding team; that means if the bat is on the line it is OUT, it has to be past the line AND grounded to be home and safe. A lot of run outs (especially from deep fielders) are completed by the wicket-keeper, or another fielder, catching the throw-in and removing the bails themselves.

The helmet cam is worn by some players as just a part of the telecast, same as a player who is miced up. Yes, they do train a lot on run out scenarios along with catching. That last one was Mark Waugh from Australia, one of the greatest fielders ever. He was certainly the bestt catch of the ball, especially when fielding in the slips. But greatest fielder ever is probably Ricky Pointing, also from Australia. When fielding in the extra cover region not only did hecrun umpteen players out (he had a VERY accurate throw) it was almost impossible to score runs past him.

You have to keep your bat on the ground inside the crease to be safe by the way. It cannot leave the ground. On the line is not inside the crease. You have to have part of your bat making contact over the line when the bails get dislodged for your bat to make you safe. Once you contact the ground inside the crease with your body, you have 'made your ground' and you are safe until you leave the crease, even if you are not in contact with the ground, ie still running and both feet are off the ground or jumping to avoid a thrown ball, etc. And if you want to get really technical, you can actually leave the crease and be not out if you do it to avoid injury (collision with the ball or another player) provided you have already 'made your ground'. Umpire's judgement call. The fielding team can also still get you out if they dislodged the bails off the stumps already without getting someone out, but they have to hold the ball up to a stump and pull it out of the ground. Funny old game.

Umpires in domestic T20 leagues sometimes have helmet cams. Sometimes good batters have helmet cams. Stumps have cams. But all the helmet cams I have seen in bbl which happens in Australia.

That was a head cam footage from umpire. There is cameras and mics inside wickets/stumps. FYI they practice throwing, it's a part of fielding. 😹😹

In cricket you aren't obliged to run when he you got the ball. If you don't think you'll complete the run safely, you don't have to run (but if you're team is scoring slowly you'll have to take more risks). Might be good to look at the different types of bowler next.
